Barosaurus was a large Diplodocidae that lived in the Upper Jurassic Period. It could grow more than 48 meters (167 feet) in length and weigh up to 73 tons. It was closely related to Diplodocus.

Other names Barosaurus had was Gigantosaurus (not to be confused with the super predator Giganotosaurus).
