BioSyn, short for Biology Synthetics Technologies, is a bioengineering company founded by InGen geneticist William Steingarten in 1983. A major competitor of InGen, it is noted for employing more lawyers and saboteurs than scientists, specializing in corporate espionage and plagiarism. Since the fall of Jurassic World, BioSyn has steadily become more militarized, exerting its domination over smaller genetics companies.

Foundation

In the year 1986, genetic technology took off in a big way, with at least 362 scientists sitting on the advisory boards of genetic firms. In this period of innovation, a man named William Steingarten began his own genetics company, Biology Synthetics Technologies (BioSyn). In these early days, they had competition from genetic engineering giant InGen, and attempted to keep up through Lewis Dodgson, a man who had already possessed an unsavoury reptation. In these early years, BioSyn experimented with a form of rabies, introducing it to farmers in Chile without their consent. Upon election, Dodgson began operating in corporate espionache schemes, recovering technology from rivals and modifying their prototypes to prevent possible lawsuits.

Jurassic Park Incident

In early 1993, Lewis Dodgson corresponded with Dennis Nedry, a computer programmer for InGen, and discussed a deal where Nedry would recover embryos from InGen, and give them to BioSyn instead. They eventually met, and Nedry was paid $750,000 up-front for the embryos. Due to Nedry's demise, BioSyn would never receive the embryos, though this would play no small part in the bankruptcy of InGen, and inevitable result of the collapse of Jurassic Park.

Following the Incident

The sabotage of Jurassic Park sent InGen on a financial tailspin. As the company tried to recover, the unintentional release of a male Tyrannosaurus rex into San Diego resulted in its total bankruptcy. The company was bought out by Masrani Global, watched keenly by BioSyn, who had by now established a base on disused Isla Sorna. While InGen held a monopoly on de-extinction for many years, BioSyn installed personnel of their own into their operations. They won the attention of Henry Wu, who briefly worked with them before his departure for Masrani Global.

Following the fall of Jurassic World, Wu was found guilty of bioethical misconduct and stripped of his credentials, and was forced to spend the next few years hiding from the law. His relationship with BioSyn paid off in the end, and he maintained a steady role. BioSyn would covertly operate in multiple locations across the USA, including in a disused lab beneath Norman Atherton's estate. Relying on Atherton's hospitality towards Wu, BioSyn continually operated there until 2019, when a attempts at producing a genetic dinosaur hybrid escaped, killing most of the people involved. In 2018, Lewis Dodgson became the CEO of BioSyn, following the retirement of Steingarten on the 3rd of February that year—and his subsequent death on the 28th of June. BioSyn continued their covert operations on Isla Sorna, maintaining a lab and continuing to clone further de-extinct animals .
