The day was a normal day like any rest. You lay on your bed listening to your favorite song as you waited for your mom to call you down for dinner. It was the last day of school and you were finally going to be able to spend time with your family.

Your mom was a doctor and your dad was a reporter. You would barely see them since their jobs always kept you occupied.

"Y/N time for dinner!" your mom yelled. You got off your bed and walked to the door, "Ok, I'm coming." you yelled back.

As you walked down the stairs you heard the front door open, "I'm home." you heard your dad say.

"Hi, Dad. How was work?" you asked as you sat down at the table.

"It was fine, there were some newbies though that really got on my nerve." he replied back looking annoyed.

"I see. I'm sorry." you said feeling bad for your dad.

"He's fine Y/N, he should stop complaining about every little thing. Today I had to do a heart surgery and someone almost cut the wrong tissue." she said sighing and bringing the food to the table.

"I'm not complaining, my job is hard too." he replied.

"Well, I think both of your jobs are really hard and I am happy you can get through them each day." you said trying to get them from arguing.

"Well, let's dig in." your mom said.

You all were eating quietly when an idea popped in your head, "Hey mom, is it ok if I go over to my friend's house and stay for a week?" you asked with pleading eyes.

You hadn't seen your friends in a while and really hoped to see them. "Hmm, I don't see why not, just don't cause any trouble." she said.

"I won't." you said with a big smile.

Your father cleared his throat and looked at your mother, "I am not so sure that is a good idea. Her last report card wasn't the best and I think she should study more over this break." he said.

You didn't understand why he said that when you had all A's and one B. You studied very hard all year long and always tried your best to keep your grades up. "Dad, I only got one B. I don't think that is a bad grade." you said hoping he would change his mind.

"Y/N, you should be getting all A's, you should not be arguing with me on what is a good grade or not." your father replied back.

"I think one week won't be a bad idea dear. She hasn't really been going out much." your mother said trying to help you.

"Really? Do you want out child to be a failure? I will not be a part of this family if she fails." your father started to raise his voice as he voiced his opinion.

"She needs to have fun and live her life. We can let her have fun for a week then she can study." your mother said standing her ground.

"Whatever. I'm going out." your father said abruptly standing up and stomping out the door.

You heard the door slam and your mother's face darkened. "Maybe, you shouldn't have asked that in front of him." she said.

"I didn't mean to cause an argument." you said.

"Go get packed up, I'll bring you over." she said getting up and going to her room.

You got up from the table and cleaned your dish off at the kitchen sink. 'Maybe I will study when I'm over at my cousins house.' you thought as you walked up the stairs to your room.

You grabbed your brown suitcase from under your bed and started to fill it up with the necessities. You then walked to your closet and grabbed some of your school books and placed them in your bag.
