Father's Home... {Past Human AU! Sun & Eclipse angst}

TW: References to abuse and panic attacks, it is very heavy angst, please don't read it if you are sensitive about this type of stuff.

Sun had been working on his homework in his room. It was a quiet and peaceful afternoon. Their parents weren't home and Lunar and Moon were at Moon's soccer practice. Currently, it was just him and Eclipse and Eclipse was sitting in his room doing homework as well. As Sun hums a song that he had heard at school, he heard the front door open.

Immediately, he was on his guard. Moon and Lunar weren't going to be home until 7:30, and it was currently 6:55. She wasn't supposed to be home until late, 9:00 at the earliest. His heart stops as he realizes who it was, his steel-toe boots creating loud footsteps.

He was home.

Sun scrambles off of their bed and opens his door. They hated that his room was next to the staircase but right now, that didn't matter. Sun runs down the hall to Eclipse's room. Quickly, he knocks the code on the door and as soon as Eclipse calls, "Come in," Sun raced into the room. Tears fall down their face as Eclipse embraces him.

"What's wrong, little brother?" Eclipse asks. Sun's voice could barely be heard in between his sobs. His words could not be understood and they wanted to run away and hide. Eclipse listens and stiffens up. He picks Sun up and whispers, "Is he home?"

Sun nods, wiping his tears away. Eclipse picks Sun up and runs into his closet, being quiet. They hide amongst the clothes scattered around Eclipse's closet. Sun was glad that Eclipse was home, because they didn't know what they would do if he was home alone.

All four of them, Eclipse, Lunar, Sun, and Lunar, had been abused and neglected, but most of the time, it was in different in some ways, but some was the same. Eclipse was left to take care of his siblings at the age of four. He also dealt with physical abuse. Moon was emotionally abused, which was why he has been forced to see a therapist multiple times.

Lunar was trans and, because of their parents' very obvious hate towards the LGBTQ+ community, he is abused in different ways. Lunar has been physically, emotionally, mentally, and sexually abused as well as being discriminated against for being trans.

Sun's abuse was way to similar to Lunar's for everyone's liking. They were emotionally and mentally abused but it was because of their parents' views on what men should be like, which is a strong man that marries a woman and has a family. Sun? Not so much. Sun has more of a feminine build (and absolutely rocks a dress, according to Lunar) and this fuels a lot of mental issues. Normally, their mother is not the bad one, often giving Sun time to calm down before she attacks them again.

Their father is a different story.

Their father appeared to like the pleasure of tormenting his children. He would constantly degrade Sun, calling him weak, useless, a baby, and many other things that would bring the boy to tears. So whenever he was home, Sun would go to whatever sibling was home. Most of the time, he went to go see Eclipse, as the older brother was really good with panic attacks.

Eclipse stood up, noticing that it was quiet, and climbed up the shelves to reach the entrance to the attic. He pushes the tile into the room above. Letting out a satisfied grunt, he climbs back down to where Sun was hiding.

"Sunny," Eclipse says quietly. Sun moves the clothes away from his face and holds his arms out. Eclipse picks his brother up and lifts him into the attic. Sun sits on the floor of the attic as Eclipse crawls up. Because it was dark in the attic, neither were worried about being seen. Not that Eclipse was worried about that anyways. His priority was calming his little brother down.

"Sun, can you hear me?" Eclipse asks his younger brother. Sun nods slightly, but doesn't say anything. But Eclipse knew that at his current state, Sun wouldn't be able to speak. Eclipse places Sun on his lap. "Okay, do what I tell you. Take a deep breath in and hold it for eight seconds."

Sun breathes, his breathing still panicked. Eventually, they take a deep breath and held it. While he did that, Eclipse says, "Release it slowly." Sun does so, his breathing a bit slower. Eclipse smiles and says, "Now repeat."

Sun wasn't sure how much time passed as he calmed down. Once he was completely calm, they look up at his brother. "Eclipse, are we safe?"

"Yes, he won't come up here," Eclipse says, stroking his brother's hair.

"What time is it?" Sun asks quietly. Eclipse pulls his phone out and smiles.

"It's 7:15," he says. "Moon and Lunar will be home soon."

"Good," Sun breathes out, smiling slightly. Eclipse hums and grabs his brother's hand, which makes Sun smile. Eclipse looks down through the entrance of the attic. His room was on a dim setting but it was still visible to see. Heavy footsteps echoed through the house as their father searched for them, swearing at them.

What seemed like hours later, them just watching and listening and hiding, Sun finally heard the front door open. He looks at Eclipse as they hear their father start yelling at the newcomers, the names, "Star" and "Moon" reaching their ears. Eclipse scrambles down from the attic and runs out of the room. Sun follows him, his eyes wide with terror as he watches Eclipse assist Lunar and Moon up the stairs.

"Can we all sleep together tonight?" Sun asks. Eclipse nods and looks at both of them.

"Go grab your things and come in our room," he says. Sun and Moon nod and run into their room, grabbing their backpacks, pajamas, and blankets before running back into their older brothers' room. Once inside, Lunar locks the door.

They weren't bothered for the rest of the night.

So yeah, angst. What I eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The next couple oneshots will all be fluff, both my regular AU! and Human AU!

Also, should I do a crossover fanfic with my SAMS characters? If so, what should I do. Bear in mind, I would need to know what I'm writing about so I might not be able to but I'm open to options. Just let me know!
