[5K Special!] Another Me {Past Human AU! Moon & ??? Angst}

Moon was walking behind his brothers. They were walking home from school. Sun was telling Eclipse and Lunar about his day but Moon was lagging behind. He felt as if something was wrong. Like he wasn't himself. He could hear everyone around him and it felt as if eyes were on him. He wanted to cry.

Moon didn't say a word as he entered the house, his emotions taking over. He walked into the bathroom and locked the door. He looked in the mirror and didn't recognize himself. What was going on? This feeling was new to him.

It wasn't Moon's first rodeo with unfamiliar feelings. His normal emotion was a lack of emotions. Just pure and endless numbness. Moon barely showed any emotions around most people. Although his emotions could be revealed easier when he was around his brothers, it was still a struggle. Even now, he had trouble distinguishing what he was feeling. This though, was different.

"Moon?" A faint voice reaches his ears but he doesn't react. He could identify the voice as Sun's but he didn't know who they were talking about. Who was this Moon person?

"Moony, can you open the door?" Eclipse's voice came next. There was silence as Moon didn't respond before Lunar's voice came through.

"Brother, can I come in?" This question was what made Moon unlock the door and look at the boys standing outside. One of them, he recognized for sure. The brunet with bright green eyes.

"Lunar!" He says happily.

"Hello..." Lunar starts with a sad smile on his face.

"KC."

A couple of hours later, Moon sat at the edge of his bed, surrounded by Eclipse, Sun, and Lunar. Moon was looking down as he listened to his brothers tell him the story. He didn't quite know what to think. He doesn't even look up to ask, "Who is KC?"

"Well," Lunar starts. "KC is a nickname. Killcode is their real name and they are your other personality."

Moon cocks his head. "But I don't have DID? How does KC exist?"

"Um, actually, your counselor at school told me to take you to a psychiatrist about a week ago," Lunar says. "And we checked for your symptoms. You fit all of them as far as we are aware."

"How don't I remember this?" Moon asks. Lunar sighs.

"Because KC was in control, not you. You had no idea it was happening and I was going to tell you but then..." Lunar trails off. Eclipse leans closer.

"Then what?" He asks.

"Then I met KC. A being who is fueled by rage and anger. Someone who wants to kill. All the emotions that you couldn't show us everyday Moon. They are you but not you simultaneously." Lunar says. Sun's wyes widen.

"Did they do anything to you?" He asks.

"They attacked me," Lunar says quietly. "But I don't know if I can blame them. They don't know us and I feel bad for them."

"You got hurt anyways," Moon says. "I know that I'm not KC but I'm sorry for what he did."

"Don't be," Lunar says. "It's not your fault nor is it their fault."

There was silence for a moment. "I want to meet KC." Sun says. Moon looks over in panic. Eclipse nods slightly.

"I do too," he says. Moon looks down and sighs.

"I want to meet them as well and I think I should meet them first, like I regret not doing," he says. Lunar smiles.

"I think if you fall asleep or look in a mirror, you should be able to see them," Lunar says. Moon nods.

"I'm going to sleep then. I'd like to see if I can get KC to communicate with me." He says. Sun, Eclipse, and Lunar nod and walk out, with Sun turning the light off on the way out. Moon closes his eyes and is greeted by a black void. That void, however, soon gives way to a bedroom. A dark bedroom that looked like his biological parent's room. Was this where KC originated?

"Yes, it is," a voice similar to his own spoke and Moon looks behind him to see an identical child standing behind him. Well, an almost identical child. Unlike Moon, KC had pink eyes and black marks going down from them. One of KC's pink eyes had a black sclera surrounding it but those were the only differences.

"Nice to finally meet you, Moon," KC says with a smirk. Moon opens his mouth to reply but finds that nothing comes out. KC chuckles. "Cat got your tongue?"

"How?" Moon asks, his voice not more than a whisper. KC shrugs.

"Your parent's abuse," they reply. "At least, I think so."

"Why are you here?" Moon demands. KC blinks slightly.

"That's the dumbest question that I have ever heard you ask," KC says. "You created me as a coping mechanism."

"From the abuse?" Moon asks, his voice trailing off. KC nods slightly. "So what's your purpose?"

"To protect you. To get rid of harmful things," they say. "That's why you unintentionally created me."

"I... can't deny that. That is probably why I did it," Moon says. "What about Eclipse, Lunar, and Sun? Will you protect them?"

"I'm not going to beat around the bush," KC says. "No. I see them as pests except for Lunar. That brother of yours is mystical and calms me down for some reason."

Moon gulps slightly. "You can't come out anymore. It's my body."

"Correction," KC smirks. "Our body. I live here too. You can't keep me locked away. Who would protect you then?"

Moon looks down and sighs. "Ok, I won't lock you away. Just don't hurt them."

"I won't," KC says. As Moon wakes up, he felt comfort that his other half wouldn't do anything.

Little did Moon know, KC had their fingers crossed.
