Chapter 3 - Charlus Potter's arrival.

St. Petersburg, 5th Nov 1981.

Narrators POV:

Charlus Potter was sitting in his study going through the files that accumulated during the years of his absence from Wizengamot. That was when he noticed almost a year ago Potter's seat had been moved to the light side of Wizengamot. His only son and heir James Potter has been the one to take care of responsibilities regarding Wizengamot for a few years now due to him being in a magical coma. His wife is the one to inform him that there is a massive target on James and his family. And due to this, they went into hiding some time ago. Seating change in wizengamot occurred around the time they went into hiding as per his calculation. He doesn't know who the proxy for their family seat in James's absence is. But whoever that person was, he thought he had the authority to change their standing in Wizengamot. Potter's family's political standing was strictly neutral even before the "wizarding counsel" was found, and Charlus concluded that he needed to pay attention to the policies adopted by the new proxy.

He was sitting in the study going through the file not knowing what was going on with his only son and his family. No one knows their survival, as such the news about the tragedy that happened to his family reached him late. It Was only 2 months before this he got clearance from the healer, he is healthy.

Apparating through anti-apparition wards has drained him a lot, combined with the major injuries it was not a good time for either him or Dorea his lovely yet scary wife. Dorea has been cleared a lot earlier than him luckily. Even though both are denied travel permission from the healer. It is the only reason he doesn't go to Potter Manor and asks his son what the hell he is doing. He has not even gone through half of the file; he can feel a headache coming.

That was when he was informed by his house elf Rinky someone had used the emergency potkey to gain access into the manor. He went to check on the guest. As he nears the entrance hall, he can hear the cry of his wife. He increases the pace and reaches there in no time. There he saw the general of "Potter army" George Dawlish standing mournful look on his face. Dawlish went on to explain that no one knew about their survival. As such, It has taken five days for Dawlish to track them down. After goblins approached him to find them. When asked, "What happened? Why is he here?"

Dawlish explained what happened to his son and wife. After taking a few calming breaths to slow down his ranging heart. Without missing a beat, he asked about his grandson. As he took notice Dawlish didn't inform anything about him yet. Charlus can see some life returning to his wife's eyes, some unknown hope. Charlus can also clearly understand how much anguish she is in though. After all, it has taken years for James to be born.

That's when George informed them of the happy news, that little Hades survived the attack. But the public including him doesn't know where he is, they are searching for him. News that Someone had already taken him to a safe place. That is what Dumbledore claimed at least. But Dawlish for some reason doesn't believe it. He made some effort to find Hades. All efforts on his part have been blocked by the ministry, stating his safety as a reason. So, they are doing what they can to find him.

Dawlish informed him that, their investigation group came to know Arcturus Black know the location. He had tried to bring Harry to Black Manor. But he has been prohibited from stating some suspicious activities of a few of these family members. They also came to know Arcturus has decided to take a matter of Harry's guardianship to Wizengamot.

Charlus and Dorea had decided, they needed to leave for Britain immediately. But George told them to get clearances from the healer so that no one could tell they were not healthy enough to take custody of their grandson. When asked why he suggested that George clearly stated his suspicion.
