It was late at night when a light blue magic circle appeared in the main hall of the Gremory mansion. When the light died down, a short man wearing a black cloak could be seen, carrying a small bundle of grey blankets in his right arm.

The Cloaked man began walking further into the Gremory home at a brisk pace seemingly familiar with the twists and turns of the near labyrinthian abode. In a brief moment he reached a large set of doors that led to the sleeping quarters of the current head of the Gremory family and began to knock. In doing so however, the small bundle in his arm began stirring in discomfort due to the sudden sound.

Looking down, the cloaked man is revealed to posses olive brown skin, with deep black curly hair styled in an almost militaristic undercut fashion with the top being just long enough to reach the middle of his forehead. He had a single strikingly clear blue eye that seemed to contain the entirety of the heavens within, the other was covered by a unique steel grey eyepatch with strange symbols etched onto it. The eyepatch also had no visible straps holding it in place. He also possessed a thick black beard and moustache, cropped neatly at 15cm in length, visibly well groomed.

His chiseled features broke into a sad smile upon noticing that his small charge awoken from it's slumber and began looking around in curiosity. In his hands was an infant boy, no older than 6 months. The child smiled at the man, when suddenly the door they were standing in front of opened, revealing none other than Zeoticus Gremory. When the two locked eyes Zeoticus visibly displayed several emotions. Surprise, recognition, nostalgia, and lastly, concern.

"Ragnar? Why are you here this late? Did something happen?" Zeoticus inquired. The man now named Ragnar simply nodded before speaking in a deep voice, "It's time, Zeo..." The Gremory Patriarch knew what he meant, and he didn't like it. Even going so far as to call him by his childhood nickname, he knew the severity of the situation, but hoped it would not happen so soon. "Are you sure there's no other way? Can someone else not take your place Ragnar?" He pleaded. The shorter man sighed in defeat and shook his head.

"If there was another way, you'd have been the first to know, old friend. I am deeply sorry to do this to you and your family, as well as leaving you with what is supposed to be my burden. I was supposed to have more time, but, things took a drastic change. And unfortunately the enemy has become aware of my existence, and I can no longer safely look after the boy." Before he could continue the visage of Venalana Gremory appeared in the doorway wondering who her husband was speaking to. Upon noticing their impromptu guest, she was shocked, and walked up to Ragnar in concern. However, before she could ask a question, she noticed a pair of big crystal clear blue eyes turned to look at her in curiosity, then in joy.

The men turned to notice her walk beside Zeoticus and Ragnar adopted a small smirk and spoke, "Lana, I see you're looking as radiant as ever." in an effort to elevate the mood. Venalana simply gave him a sad smile before she replied, "And I see you're still a shameless flirt as ever. But enough pleasantries, is it that time?" Ragnar nodded grimly. "Unfortunately it is Lana, as I was just telling Zeo, They have become aware of my existence. So I must leave before they discover the boy." Venalana shook her head in dismay, but forced a smile to help ease the infant boy's mood.

Ragnar continued, "In an effort to give him a life full of love and joy he deserves, I'm afraid I have to make an unreasonable request of the two of you..." Before he could speak up again Venalana simply held her hands out, signaling him to hand the boy over to her with the same forced smile as before. "Nonsense Rags, we'd be honored to take care of him. Have you named him yet?" Zeoticus couldn't help but smile and agree, it truly would be an honor to raise this child. As a last request.

He sighed in exhaustion and sadness. "Due to you readily agreeing to take care him I will let that obnoxious nickname slide," he said with a straight face. "His name, is Rune. His family name must not be revealed, at least until he's awakened into his heritage." Zeoticus nodded in agreement, knowing the chaos that would ensue should his heritage be revealed to the public too soon. "So then, how about Ragnarson as a family name for now? Even if they got wind of him using your first name as a family name, it wouldn't raise much of a fuss given that it's a cover to begin with, isn't that right? O-"
