While Rias and Akeno are listening to Ragnar and Nana.
After Rune had finished professing his love for Rias to Sirzechs and Grayfia, the former began celebrating while the latter was undoubtedly proud of her nephew.
Grayfia and Sirzechs looked at each other and nodded. She then summoned a small magical circle and dropping a roughly 1.8 meter long box before handing it to Rune. "This is a gift young Rune. From both the Gremory household, and your father."
Rune was shocked from both the gift, and the fact that it also came from his father.
The young man opened the box to reveal a beautifully ornate silver spear. Reaching 1.5 meters in length, the spear was perfectly balanced. It had an incredibly sharp blade, with 3 bright red rubies cut and inlaid along the flat of the blade, 2 in small diamond shapes and the smallest in a triangular shape. The last detail Rune noticed were the engravings above the the 3 gems. They seemed to be runes of some sort.
The shaft had multiple rounded prongs pointing out and facing towards the blade to serve as stopping points in order to have the spear not pierce its target too deeply so as to have its owner be able to retrieve it with minimal issue. The shaft ended with the heel of the spear somewhat fanning out, but containing thick groves with a rougher texture for ease of gripping, as well as the counterweight for the blade to balance the weapon perfectly.
Before Rune could ask Grayfia continued, "This spear was forged and tuned to your unique magical signature, using a few drops of your blood as the bonding agent to its wielder. Meaning only you can use it to its full potential. It's craft is composed of two major components. The blade was given to us by your father, and he called this unique metal 'Bone Steel'. It is an enchanted metal used by a certain pantheon from his world. It is essentially iron smelted with the bones of powerful mythological beasts and quenched in the blood of a god to harden it. Making it especially lethal to any non-human opponent, regardless of what pantheon they hail from."
If Rune wasn't surprised before he was certainly shocked now, he may not know what he is, but he is very happy to received a gift from his father. Especially one as powerful and useful as this. Grayfia continued,
"The shaft and heel were made of a metal which originates from the greek pantheon. Adamantine. Virtually unbreakable, untarnishable, lightweight and resilient. The gems serve a purpose as well. The first gem closest to the point of the blade contains an enchantment to assist in piercing its targets magical defenses. The gem at the center is enchanted with a reinforcement charm, allowing for the whole of the weapon to be as strong as the hardiest components used to forge it. And finally, the small gem is granted a small enchantment that allows the weapon to either return to, or be summoned by its wielder regardless of distance or obstacle in its path. This, Rune, is the Gremory house gift to you. In hopes that it will serve you well in all future endeavors, and that it will assist in freeing Rias of her predicament as well as keep you both safe."
