The Letter and Meeting the Family

Zeoticus and Venalana wake up to start the day and prepare for a meeting with Sirzechs and Grayfia. Upon getting out of bed to check on the infants, Venalana can be heard squealing to herself in joy. Zeoticus decides to check on what the noise is about, only to see both Rune and Rias cuddling together in the crib. After internally squealing at the adorable image as well, he smiles feeling that the future will be bright for the children.

They both get dressed for the day and pick the children up, after Venalana takes a few dozen pictures of course, and go into their dining room for breakfast. Venalana begins feeding both children, while Zeoticus calls for one of his maids to send an urgent summons to Sirzechs and Grayfia to discuss an important topic. The maid immediately acquiesces and vanishes in a magic circle to deliver the summons to Sirzechs. Once breakfast is finished, Zeoticus assists in taking care of the infants, and they then head into the living room to wait for their eldest son.

While waiting, the Gremory Patriarch turns Rias towards his wife, who is holding Rune and the children properly lock eyes for the first time. Rune tilts his head in curiosity, and Rias mimics his action. Once again causing the heads of the Gremory household to squeal in excitement and joy. Rias can then be seen reaching her hand out, Rune blinks and does the same. Their little hands meet in the middle and they both begin to smile and baby talk.

Zeoticus is borderline foaming at the mouth with how precious this moment is, and Venalana always being prepared, thought to record their first greeting. The light of a magic circle can be seen from the other side of the room, showing both Sirzechs and Grayfia walking towards the nearby couches when they notice Venalana holding an unknown black haired boy that is holding Rias' hand. His first instinct is to separate them and warn the boy that no one touches Rias, however, cooler minds prevail with Grayfia sensing his intention and pulling his ear stopping him in his tracks.

After yelping in pain and whining to Grayfia that a strange boy is harassing his precious sister, she simply shakes her head and pulls him towards her in-laws to find out what they were summoned for in the first place. Zeoticus and Venalana finally tear their eyes from the two precious infants to notice their approach. And Zeoticus has to stifle a laugh seeing his eldest child already being "punished" by his wife, while Venalana simply sighs already knowing why this is happening. "Greetings Lord and Lady Gremory, we have arrived as requested." Grayfia states while bowing in her usual professional manner and finally letting go of Sirzechs' ear. Sirzechs can be seen pouting behind her while staring at the unknown boy in frustration and jealousy.

The infants look towards the 2 new adults in the room, Rias sees Sirzechs and smiles, while Rune looks confused. However, once the infant boy meets Grayfia's eyes he smiles wide and lifts his arms up to her, wanting to go to her. Grayfia is surprised, and somewhat confused as to why this strange child feels so familiar to her. Ultimately she decides to look towards Venalana for permission, but before she could respond Rune began to whine in Venalana's hands and try to get closer to Grayfia. Both women are slightly surprised at this, so Grayfia steps forward and picks the infant up. In doing so, Rune immediately calms down and begins to smile again.

Grayfia becomes somewhat flustered due to her not having any experience with children at this time, but as soon as she locks eyes with the boy, her heart was filled with a strange warmth she can only assume is "motherly". Rune lifts a hand up reaching for her hair, and Grayfia offers him her finger to grab instead. Upon grabbing her finger the infant begins to giggle in joy, and Grayfia's eyes begin to tear up with an overwhelming feeling of joy, as if this laughter melted her heart instantly. She then leaned down and pressed her forehead against the boy's own and responded to his giggling with a smile full of joy as tears began to fall. The others were quite surprised to see the usually taciturn maid show so much emotion, and in response Sirzechs couldn't help but become emotional himself and went to give his wife and the child a hug.
