Guilty... or not?

"Oh Rose! I haven't seen you in ages!" Exclaims my mom when we enter the lobby. "But what are you girls doing here so early?"
After the lunch break, we all got called to our classrooms. We got told that we had to go home and that a new curfew would be set, just like last year. And that if we had any useful information, we should call the station right away. Of course, the only thing the students actually cared about was missing classes and being able to go home. And none of us really cared about curfew, cops never stopped us from having a party before, why should they now?
"There was an... incident at school this morning." Says Anastasia, awkwardly looking at Rachel. "Didn't you see it on the news?"
"No, I was at work all day... ana, what are you talking about?" She asks, worried.
"Rachel, why don't you bring Rose to your room while I tell mom what happened." She says.

I grab Rose's hand and start walking towards the big staircase leading to the second floor where all the bedrooms are located. I can hear my sister whispering to my mother what happened as we slowly walk up the stairs, step by step. My room is at the end of the hallway, next to the bathroom and my dad's office.
"Do you mind if I take a quick shower?" Asks Rose in a hesitant voice. "I wouldn't mind a bit of alone time to sort things out in my mind. If you don't mind."
"Of course I don't mind! Here let me run you a bath, better than a shower. And call me if you need anything."

While Rose is enjoying a nice hot bath, I bring our school bags to my bedroom, lay on my bed and close my eyes for a minute, rethinking everything that happened today. I think of what Rose said: "Should we tell them?"

Argh what am I thinking, of course we shouldn't tell them! It had nothing to do with it!
