DRING DRING DRING
Shouts my alarm in my ears. I look at my phone. It's 6:45 am, time to go to school. I stand up and walk to my closet as I think of everything that happened yesterday. I grab a bunch of clothes and head to the bathroom to change. I lock the door behind me and slowly take my pajamas off. I look at myself in the mirror. I lost a lot of weight when Emily died and I've had a very slim body since then. I sigh and start getting dressed. Once I'm done, I go to the door and open it, revealing my older sister, waiting. She is already dressed up in her blue and white cheerleading uniform.
"You have a practice this morning?" I ask
"Yeah, it's for tonight's game. Are you coming?"
Argh I had totally forgotten about the game.
"I don't know, after everything that's going on, I don't think so..." I start brushing my hair while my sister is putting a nice shade of shiny lip gloss on her lips."I'm so sorry I didn't drive you to Em's tomb yesterday, I was super busy and you were already asleep once I got back home. Also, is Bess in town? There was an extra pair of shoes in the closet."
Bess is my father's twin sister and she stays at our house when she comes in to visit her hometown friends.
"It's fine, we were really busy too after yesterday. And no, it isn't Bess in the guest room. Rose is sleeping over, she didn't want to be home alone after... you know." I reply, "which reminds me I should probably go and wake her up."
"Wait what are you talking about, what happened yesterday?" Asks my sister curious.
"You don't know? How can you not know? The whole school was immobilised." I say
"Oh ummm, yeah about that. Ok you can't tell mom but I wasn't at school yesterday... my friends and I were out in town." She explains, "so, um, what happened yesterday?"
I roll my eyes, "There was a picture of Sirius March, Rose's brother who disappeared last year, on our classroom's door. The police came and we were interrogated and all that shit." I explain as her eyes get wider and wider.
"Wait what?! The cops were at school?" She asks worried.
"Yep," I say, "I really have to go and wake up Rose but we'll talk about it later."My sister is clearly hiding something from me, something big. And I don't like it.
