Secret Garden

Peace and quiet, that's what Branch wanted in that moment after a long day of interacting with others he needed time by himself to regain his energy but something was missing. No, someone was missing, despite the fact being around others was exhausting there was one troll who he wanted to see at that moment who could bring a smile to his face, but she wasn't here with him right now, or so he thought. He continued to look up to the sky sitting against a tree when suddenly he heard a voice that he didn't expect to hear.

"Nice night tonight isn't it?" A familiar voice asked.

"Poppy! What are you doing here?" He asked.

"You weren't at your bunker so I decided to look for you at the second place you go when you need time to yourself, I just wanted to know if you were ok" Poppy looked at him.

"Yeah I'm alright, to be honest, I kinda wanted you here with me" Branch admitted.

"Sooo is it ok if I sit down next to you?" She gave him a warm smile.

Branch nodded and she sat down next to him. He noticed something different about her in that moment, she wasn't being highly upbeat and loud, she seemed relaxed perhaps a bit tired even.

"Are you a bit tired?" Branch asked.

"A little, I have had a long day with all my queen duties, sometimes I forgot to take breaks and allow myself to relax" Poppy explained.

"Yeah, I noticed" Branch said.

"At least it's nice out here. In fact, I remember something about this area" She realised.

"What is it?" He looked at her curiously.

"I want to show you something" Poppy stood up.

Branch looked at her confused but followed her, they went not too far from where they were and Poppy stopped at a tall bush.

"A random bush?" He stared at the empty tall bush.

"Not exactly, trust me?" She held out her hand to him.

Branch hesitated but held her hand blushing slightly.

"Close your eyes" Poppy said.

Branch did so and she gently guided him through the bush, it didn't feel scratchy and rough like a normal bush did it kinda felt fluffy and soft he tried to hold back his laughter from the tickling that he felt from the leaves then he was out and they stopped.

"Just wait here for a second" Poppy said and started to clean up the area since it's been a while since she has been to this mysterious place.

Branch waited as she wished and finally she had everything ready.

"Ok you can open your eyes" Poppy smiled.

Branch slowly opened his eyes and he looked around surprised they were fireflies that lit up the area in a soft glow, there was a table in the centre that had a music player on top of it, and near the corner was a box full of scrapbook supplies and a swing hanging off a tall tree branch from the open sky outside the tall bush. Flowers surrounded the area in a beautiful rainbow pattern, this place was truly breathtaking.

"Welcome to my secret garden" Poppy gestured to the beautiful garden.

"This is such a beautiful place, your secret garden?" He looked at her.

"Yes, I discovered this place when I was younger, it was my getaway from all my duties when I needed a break I haven't been here for a few years so I needed to tidy the place up a bit, but now that you're a part of my life, I wanted to share this place with you, it can be our secret garden" Poppy held his hands.

"I love it, you are the best girlfriend I could ever ask for" Branch smiled.

Poppy smiled back at him and looked at the music player and got an idea. She went to check what music she had and found a nice relaxing song, she pressed play and she slowly went to Branch.

"May I have this dance?" She asked.

Branch looked at her, something about the glow surrounding the area made her look even more beautiful he agreed and she held him close as they started to dance together.

There's always someone waiting

Branch felt his face heating up something about being held close like this made his stomach and heart flutter, was he nervous? Poppy held him slightly tighter to ease his nerves and he slowly started to relax.

With open hands who'll
Reach out and stop you fading

Into the darkness
I hope you know it's me

Poppy honestly wasn't used to something this peaceful she was always surrounded by loud music and activities 24/7 but this moment here with her boyfriend her soulmate seem to make her realise how nice a quiet moment can be.

And you're wondering
Will it ever end

Branch thought about everything that he's been through he went through so much but Poppy was there for him no matter how hard he tried to push her away he let the music flow through his body.

'Cause no matter what you say or do
It's so hard to find the truth
One thing I can promise you

I promise you're safe with me
You're not alone

They knew this moment would be one they would cherish for a long time, the calming vibes they gave off in the moment was soothing for them both this was something they both needed.

You're safe with me
Your heart is home

Poppy took a moment to stare into his eyes she never realised how beautiful his beautiful blue eyes were they looked so calm she felt any nerves drift away from her body and she smiled.

Now and forever
I'll be your shelter

Branch saw her smile and he smiled too, they shared this wonderful moment together, it was them against the world.

I'm gonna help you to believe
You'll always be safe with me

Branch's eyes slowly looked down focusing on her smile. Poppy closed her eyes and leaned in and Branch did the same, they both knew what was going to happen and they accepted their feelings and shared a loving kiss. After a minute they let go and their foreheads touched, feeling joyful bliss.

"I love you, so much" Branch said

"I love you too, and I promise to be here for you no matter what happens" Poppy and Branch's hug watches went off and Poppy giggled quietly knowing what would happen next.

"Hug time" She gave him a loving embrace and he did the same.

In that moment they knew one thing, they definitely would come back to this magical place more often.
