A few weeks later...
"Where do u want me to put this?" my friend Kaylee asks. It's been a couple of weeks since I moved to LA, I just had to move. Every single little detail reminded me of my mom. Staying in the same house we both lived in since I was 12 didn't help. So the first thought that popped into my mind after seeing my mom for the last time was, I have to leave this shithole, no offence Boston.
"Yeah just place it next to the fridge," I say while moving the box away to create an easier path for her. I've known Kaylee since middle school, we were platonic best friends, before she had to move to LA because of her parents. She had the family I always dreamed of, a nice, kind, loving father that didn't leave you at a young age. A stay-at-home mother that spent every second being with you. But Kaylee never made me feel disincluded, which is why she allowed me to move in with her... and someone else, because I see a car parking through the driveway.
"Uh, Kay?," I say with a confused look on my face.
"Yeah, what's up?" she says turning her attention to me.
"You did say I could move in with you, but I never knew there was anyone else living here," I say, but before Kaylee has time to respond to me, the front door opens and I see a tall, masculine, mysteriously familiar figure come in.
" hey, kay, who's the newbie?" wait, there was only one other person who called Kaylee that-
"Wait, shortcake is that you?" oh no, he knows I hate that nickname. Let me explain who this is, that guy is Kays's older, annoying, stupid brother which I might have had a small tiny crush on when I was younger. So what if he's 6 foot, has great hair, and looks even better from when we were younger? He's still the same annoying boy that I used to know.
"What did I say about calling me that loverboy" the reason why I call him that is not that I used to like him when I was younger, but because every single teenage girl in Boston was all over him.
"Wow, you'd think that when you see someone again they'd change, but shortcake, your still as small and tiny as you were back in 8th grade," he says with a smirk on his face.
" kay, you never said you're stupid, annoying brother would be living with you," I say as Miles chuckles.
"Oh, shortcake you've got it all wrong, Kays living with me, meaning-" I cut him off before he could finish the sentence.
"No, kay this isn't true," I say looking at Kaylee just being chilled and relaxed.
" Listen bae it's just my brother, he's harmless. I mean how else do you think I'm living in this huge house?" she says as my mind slowly comprehends everything that has happened in the last five minutes.
"Uh, ok. We can make this work, I mean it's only temporary, right?" I say trying to make this situation less bad. I mean it will only be for a while as I try to find a job and sort everything out.
"You stay as long as you need bae" somehow Kay always find a way to reassure me. I then look at Miles, which is looking at me. Wait what? Think nothing of this Mae, sure most people would call him alright-looking, some even thinking he's a Greek god, but I think he's just as bad, annoying, and stupid as he was when we were teens.
" Listen I've got to head out and... Visit someone," Miles says in a weird tone. I wonder who he's going to? Does he have a girlfriend? Wait, of course, he does. No man looking like that would be single.
"Yep, just be here by six, we are all going to have our very first roommate dinner," Kaylee says looking at the both of us.
"Roommate what?" I state
"Yes, it will now be a traditional thing to get Chinese food every Tuesday," she tells us. Anyway, I love Chinese food, so I guess staying here won't be so bad.
"K bye" Miles leaves before Kay can say anything else. I wonder where he's going, wait why would I care? I could care less if that guy was about to jump off a cliff.
"Imma head upstairs and relax if that's ok" I say while grabbing a snack.
"Yeah, of course, I'll be there in like 10 minutes," Kaylee says while she finishes typing something on her laptop.

Ok Netflix, or Disney plus? I say to myself while reaching for a chip. Oh, I do want to start that anime, it's on Netflix. The name of the anime is Romance Killer, sounds like my kind of type.
"Ooh, whatcha watching?" I hear Kaylee say while she steals the bag of chips I brought.
"I'm thinking between an anime or Riverdale," I say while fidgeting my fingers on the remote.
"Oh, tuff choice, but I am going to go with the anime" now this is why she's my best friend.
We start watching and by the time we know it we're almost finished with the series, well it was only 12 episodes. We hear a knock on the door, and since I'm a nice person I go and see who it is.
"Oh, hey shortcakes, missed me much? ," he says with that stupid smirk on his face.
"Wait you live here, oh sorry lover boy, I almost forgot you existed," I say teasingly.
"Wait, what time is it?" I say scratching my temple.
"5:57 and 30 seconds to be exact," he says moving his eyes to his watch. I hate how he's always exact.
"So are you guys ready?" He says shouting, even though Kay's like right near us.
"Yh, I'm coming. Just give me a few minutes." kay says while I open the door wider, so he can come in.
"Are you going to order or are we going out?" he says looking at me like I know.
"Yes we are going so get ready" I hear Kaylee shout from her bedroom.Hey guys I hope you are enjoying the story so far. It's my first time writing so pls go easy on me.
