Miles POV

Mae and I enter the apartment, as I take off my shoes quietly, I'm guessing Kay is asleep so better safe than sorry. The butterflies in my stomach are still there after Mae hugged me. I hope the things I said were helpful, or else I would kill myself from embarrassment. I should really get over her, she only see's me as a friend, but I don't want that. I want to go on thousands of dates with her, each one being memorable. I want to wrap my arms around her waist and never let go, but I can't. At least now she doesn't hate me, I think. We still have this big wall between us, the wall of friendship, boy do I want to tear it down. If only she felt the same way, in all my experience with dating, I have never found a girl like Mae. She's different, in so many good ways. If only I could tell her all this. Mae needs a friend right now, one that helps and supports her, not a boyfriend. I see her go up stairs to her room, maybe I can pretend I forgot my charger, yeah I'll do that. Wait, is there I charger in there? I'll just say I forgot something and grab something random. I walk up stairs and then knock on the door. " hey, it's me. I forgot something" I say opening the door.
"Miles?" She says as I walk in, shit, she knows I'm here for her. Just act cool, your here for a.. screwdriver.
"Just need a screwdriver" I say randomly
"Why the heck would you need a screwdriver at 10pm?" She giggles, I try not to smiles as I hear her.
"Yh, you know for the..." I say
"Oh, the construction for my room?" She asks.
"Yeah... Actually, ha, it is in the toolbox downstairs. I'll just go and get it, the screwdriver from downstairs." I am so embarrassed, I want to sink into the ground.
"Miles, did you come to say goodnight to me? Don't worry it's not weird for friends to do that." she puts enthesis on the friends as if that is all we'll ever be.
"Oh yh, you got me ha, goodnight shortcake," I say.
"Good night loverboy," she says as I close the door and exit the room.

"Come on, wake up! I'm taking you somewhere so you better hurry up." I hear Mae screaming in my right ear, as I slowly adjust to the light and the fact that it's 4:30 AM on a Saturday. I don't have work today and I was going to bing watch 'the Office'. I get out of bed and walk to the bathroom and wash my face. I wonder where she wants to take me? I finish getting dressed and then we go in her car.
"Ok, so where in the world are we going Mae?" I ask because I'm both curious and worried at this point.
" Nah, nope, I'm not telling you," she says as turns on some Taylor Swift. I laugh because ever since we were younger Mae always at any chance she got, played Taylor Swift. I got to admit though she's actually really good.
" ok, wait Mae, why are we going to the airport?" I say all confused.
"Just come, I promise it will be worth it," she says with a twinkle in her eyes as we head out of the car. This is another thing I like about Mae, she always makes people comfortable when around her.
"K, just jump over this gate. Don't worry, they won't catch us." she jumps over, so I jump over too. She then lays down on this like roof thing, I'm not sure how to explain it. But the view, with Mae there. Just the two of us and the sunset, watching the sun enter the day as Mae smiles. That's in my opinion, the best view I've ever seen.
"So, isn't it beautiful?" she says.
"Yeah, it really is" I say looking directly at her, she then proceeds to blush.
