Starstruck

Chapter Three

Mike's POV:
...
As Mike walked into the crowded cafeteria, he spotted his group of friends and basically ran to them.
"Mike there you are! So about the party-" Lucas began, "Do we really HAVE to go?" Mike groaned
"Come on Mike!" his friends said in unison.
"This is the third party you have rejected!" Max complained
"I know but-"
"No buts!"
"You're going."
Great. Now I have to go to a party. Something I absolutely hate doing.

(A few minutes later)

He tuned back into the conversation that his friend his were having.
"Oh yeah there's a new girl!" Max exclaimed "Her name is Jane, she seems really nice"
"There's also a new boy" Mike said thinking back to class. God, he was so embarrassing with all of his stuttering, why couldn't he have just been less awkward for once, why was he even being awkward? It was just some boy.
"The party is on Friday by the way" Lucas said casually "What?! You guys know I'm grounded, my mom would never let me go!" Mike yelped. "Chill out, you can just sneak out, aren't your parents coming home late anyway?" Dustin said rolling his eyes. Just then, the entire group looked up to see two people walk by, Will and... a girl.
"Hey Jane! come sit with us," Max exclaimed contently "Oh, and you too uh.."
"Will"
"Thanks Max!" Jane said with a friendly smile on her face, sitting between Max and Dustin as Will sat next to Mike.
"Hey Will," Mike said turning to face him, he quickly looked away "When did you guys move here?".
"Last week, Will doesn't like it much here" she said surprisingly cheerfully as Will gave her a 'why the hell did you just say that' look.
"Oh well I don't like it very much either, but you get used to small town America after a while, I moved here from California and it was hard but once I got a group of good friends I felt right at home" Max said just before Mike elbowed her,
"Stop being so sappy" he joked. "So where in Hawkins is your new home?" Lucas queried,
"65 Old Cherry Drive" Will responded, everyone went silent. "We're neighbours! " Mike chuckled.
"Oh.. cool!" Will exclaimed, "So!" Dustin broke the silence, "You guys wanna come to a party this Friday?"
"Um..." Will mumbled,
"Sure!" Jane exclaimed.
