The moon shone outside Mike's bedroom window staring down at him as he sat in his room, his face lit up from his phone.
He scrolled through Instagram until he landed on a picture, a picture of Will smiling with his hand in a peace sign surrounded by a few people who were all chatting from what it looked like.
To Mike, Will seemed like the quiet type. The kind you could go to for great advice if you needed it. As he looked over at his desk he saw the pile of dishes laying there, he often ate in his room because he hated family dinners. They were just an excuse for his parents to boil up an argument and yell across the table ending with one of them storming off.
He flopped onto his bed as a bunch of thoughts swirled around his mind which meant he had little to no sleep, only drifting off now and then and immediately awakening just to stir up more thoughts.

As he slumped out of bed and got changed he checked the time on his digital clock sitting on his dusty bedside table, 5:15.
He wandered down his stairs and into the kitchen, pouring himself a cup of tea and making his way to the front door, he leaned on the frame and noticed some one sitting on a bench across the street, Will.
He crossed the street as the cold air spiked on his face. When he reached the bench, Will looked up from his book with his pretty hazel eyes. Pretty was an understatement.
"Can I sit here?" he asked blankly staring into his eyes like he was in a trance
"Sure" Will respond breathily,
as he sat down, he looked over to try and get a glance of what he was reading but he was unsuccessful so he simply asked,
"What're you reading?"
"The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt" he said showing the cover briefly
"Oh cool! I've been wanting to read that, is it good?"
"Mhm! You can borrow it when I'm done if you want"
"Oh, thanks, that would be great!".
Will spoke after a minute or 2 of peaceful quiet,
"So, you excited for the party today?"
"Oh crap the parties today, I completely forgot!"
Will giggled softly and as he did, Mike's stomach fluttered,
"Um, where is it again?" Mike asked
"Across town, Brownstone Street"
"Shit."
"What?"
"I kinda sorta don't have a car"
"Oh, um, if you want I can drive you there? I have an old car that used to be my brother's, it just about works"
"Really? Thanks!" Mike exclaimed gleefully
"So why don't you have a car, aren't you like, rich? Sorry that came out wrong-"
"It's alright," Mike chuckled "Last party I went to my car got stolen, that's kinda why I'm grounded".
Will hummed in response and looked back down at his book, Mike tried to lean closer to see what page he was on when
Will turned his head to look at him,
"Hey I should probably-"
their faces were inches away and Mike stared at him, it was like time stopped as he admired his face and noticed Will was doing the same.
Finally after what felt like ages but was probably only 10 seconds, a voice interrupted them and they both shot away from eachother at such speed Mike almost fell off the bench.
"Will! Come get ready, Mom doesn't want you too be late again!"
Will left without another word, only a glance at Mike as he crossed the street, Mike sighed and walked over to his own house not being able to process,
What. Just. Happened.
