New School- Dustin Long

Asha sat behind her cousin and grabbed all her books from her bag. The teacher then pulled out a guitar which made the girl furrow her eyebrows, "why does he have guitar?" She whispered to Anna who shrugged her shoulders, "he likes to play his guitar while he does attendance".
"Anna Kone"
"Present"
Staring at the wall Asha began to zone out, something she does quite often.
"Asha Brown?"
"ASHA BROWN!"
"Sorry- present" The blonde girl stuttered as she woke from her daydream, a couple people around her laughed, however one laugh stood out to her most.
She could recognise that assholes laugh any day. Scanning the classroom she finally made eye contact with the one and only Dustin, staring daggers at the boy who only held a mischievous smirk on his face. It was almost like a challenge to see who would break eye contact first and Asha did not want to be the one to break. Eventually, Dustin reluctantly broke eye contact making the girl grin cockily.

Somehow, as if it was unavoidable, every time Asha visited her cousin Dustin always found a way to get on her nerves.

It all started when they were six, Asha had accidentally knocked down Dustin's sandcastle one afternoon while Anna and her were at the sand pit.
Straight after that Dustin 'accidentally' kicked sand into Asha's face getting it in her eyes, mouth and long blonde hair.
Since then it was as if a war started between the two and every chance they got to annoy the other, they would take it.

During Asha's next visit, Dustin hit her with his bike resulting in a sprained wrist because apparently he hadn't seen her.
In return Asha, with the help of Shuji, stuck posters all around town with the words 'Dustin likes cock' alongside a photo of him with a drawn on penis sticking out of his mouth.

The rest of Asha's visits often consisted of these sort of interactions between the two and although Asha wasn't happy to see his feral face everyday for the rest of her schooling years. She was more than happy to annoy the absolute shit out of him at every chance she got.

"Psst"
Asha looked to her side to see a blonde girl, "hey you're like really pretty, I was wondering if you wanted to sit with me and my friends at lunch?" The girl asked sweetly "I'm Heather by the way".
"Uh- yeah sure, thanks" Ash smiled, she knew that although Anna assured her that she could hang out with her and Maya she needed to make friends of her own and not rely on her cousin.

After a slow and miserable class the bell rung and everyone quickly scattered out of the classroom. Asha walked alongside Maya and Anna as they made their way to their lockers which just so happened to be pretty close to one another.

Paper was stuck to all the lockers down the hall and the words read,

Dustin loves Maya

Brandt loves Maya

"Oh my god, they all say Dustin and Brandt loves Maya" Anna squealed and Asha looked at the notes confused.
She wasn't surprised someone had a crush on Maya, she was surprised that the two 'hottest guys in school' (Anna and Mayas words not Asha) who were known for being dickheads (well she knew Dustin was a dick and from what she'd heard about Brandt he was just as bad if not worse), just so happened to stick notes all over school confessing their love to a girl they had bullied all through primary school.
It just all seemed odd.

"Are you guys sure it's not a joke or something?" Asha asked hesitantly not wanting to hurt Mayas feeling however it seemed nothing to break the girls spirit in this moment.
"Don't be silly Asha, the notes literally say they're like in love with me so like don't be jealous" Maya retorted sassily.
Taken aback slightly Asha decided not to press on the subject anymore, "sorry I just thought you and Sam were a thing" the blonde shrugged as the two girl made revolted faces.
"Ew Maya and Sam is just no" Maya quickly nodded along in agreement with Anna.
"Yeah like me and Sam is just..no, like I can't believe you actually thought he liked me" Maya said playing with her hair a bit, "wait, do you think he likes me?" She asked quietly and Asha smirked knowingly at her, "not that I care, like whatever, I don't care I was just wondering" Maya rambled trying not to seem suspicious however Asha saw straight through her.
"Mhm" Asha hummed sarcastically at the girl who was turning a deep shade of red.

"Maya come over here!"
They all turned around to see Heather and he group gesturing for Maya to come over. Asha smiled and waved at Heather who smiled and waved back.
With a panicked expression Maya looked at the two "Anna come with me" she begged, "no they only want you". With one last pleading look Maya made her way over to the group.

PE was their next class, the three of them sat on the benches watching as the rest of the class played.
"Dustin's earring is really hot" Anna whispered and Maya nodded as Asha scoffed though she couldn't deny the fact that Dustin had gotten significantly hotter since her last holiday to LA.
He had never been ugly but now he was hot, but she would never admit that out loud.
"But Brandt is also really hot" Maya whispered back as the boy sat next to Anna. Asha had to disagree with Maya on that one, she didn't find Brandt ugly but she certainly didn't find him hot.
"And then there's him" Anna sighed staring lovingly across the field at Alex.
"Oi blonde girl pay attention, get out there!" The teacher shouted at Anna and she quickly got to her feet and went towards Alex.
Asha then took Anna's spot next to Maya, "your not actually considering dating one of those assholes are you" she whispered, "but they're hot and you hardly even know them" Maya reasoned and Ash rolled her eyes, "I know them enough to know that they're dicks, stick with Sam, he's already whipped" Asha said annoyed with the girl whose only interest was popularity.

Dustin glanced across the field at the blonde girl deep in conversation with Maya. He looked down at the ball in his hands and then back at Asha, he aimed the ball and then kicked it, hitting her straight in the nose.
"OW!"
Asha's head flung back from the impact, holding her bloody nose. Dustin let out a loud laugh along with Brandt who was watching beside him.
"Oi you! Take the girl to sickbay!" The teacher yelled at Dustin who was still laughing as Asha glared at him.

"You've got a little something" Dustin snickered at the girl whilst gesturing towards her noise, "yeah no shit, what the hell was that!?" Asha yelled at Dustin, holding ice to her blood nose.
"It was funny"
"No it was painful! You literally go out of your way to piss me off, at least the last couple years it only lasted a few weeks, now I have to deal with you for the rest of my life" Asha rambled frustratedly.
"Hey, you think I wanna deal with your ugly ass everyday" Dustin retorted and Asha scoffed whilst rolling her eyes.
"Your so annoying Dustin"

I hope you guys liked this chapter, it took me a while to work out what type of starter I wanted for Dustin and Asha but I think an enemies to lovers is going to be good (it's also one of my fave tropes)
