New School- Dustin Long

Miranda Part 2

The bell for lunch rang which was an absolute lifesaver. Asha never understood math and what made matters worse was the seating arrangement. The last ten minutes of class felt like hours with Dustin's nonstop desk tapping and whistling and when that failed to get a reaction out of the girl he would bump her knee with his or kick her foot. Her hand and jaw were clenched in frustration, she knew he wanted to rile her up and get a reaction out of her and she was determined to not give him what he wanted. So if that meant dealing with his constant tapping and whistling for ten minutes then so be it.

But then again, miss Mother Nature just seemed to have a hidden vendetta against Asha. As her and Ella went to leave the classroom the teacher quickly called Asha, Ella, Brandt and Dustin back.
"Don't think I forgot about you lots detentions, Mr Mills will be in shortly" Mrs O'brine said and left the classroom.
The four students all sat in the back row of the classroom, Ella in the corner, then Asha, then Dustin and finally Brandt.
"What'd you do?" Ash asked but was ignored by Dustin. Karma I guess, but Asha was only allowed to ignore Dustin not the other way round.
"Oi I'm talking to you" the girl said throwing a piece of scrunched up paper at the boys face. Dustin turned his chair so his back was facing the girl, this only seemed to further annoy Asha. However, Dustin was finding this very entertaining, maybe ignoring her would finally get a reaction.
Asha then stretched her leg out far enough to kick Dustin's seat, "hellooo".
Ignored once again.
"Dude I know you can hear me"
With a huff Asha realised it was useless and turned to Ella who was drawing on the desk.
Slouching in her chair Asha started platting parts of her long blonde hair to somehow kill time.

Dustin turned and faced the girl who was focused on her hair. He hadn't properly looked at the girl before therefore he never noticed quite how pretty she truly was. Well, he always knew she was pretty but he never got to appreciate it that much as he spent most his time pestering her.
Her eyebrows were furrowed in concentration and her pink lips were in a slight pout as she did her hair.
Asha felt eyes watching her and turned to look towards Dustin, who quickly looked away. She smirked as the boy turned red, knowing he'd been caught staring.
"Still ignoring me Dusty?" She knew how much he hated being called Dusty.
"No" he shrugged leaning back in his chair.
Asha wasn't exactly expecting him to answer her therefore she didn't know what to say as she assumed he would continue ignoring her.
Dustin noticed this and took it as an opportunity to start some conversation.
"So your going to Miranda's tonight?" he asked.
"Ah so you did see my post, you just didn't like it" questioned Asha with a knowing look. Dustin looked flustered for only second before he grinned, "yep that sounds about right, so are you going?".
"Why do you want to know?" She smirked leaning her head on her hand.
The boy shrugged, "just wondering, wouldn't of thought you were the type to hook up with guys you just met".
"What?" Asha asked shocked.
"You didn't know?"
"Know what?" Asha was getting more and more confused.
"At Miranda's sleepover all you do is smoke,drink and hook up with guys".
Asha took in this new information and then looked back at Ella who was preoccupied with her phone.
"Ella, we're not hooking up with anyone right?" She asked cautiously.
"Oh god no, we'll leave before the guys come okay?" Smiled Ella calming Ash's nerves right down, "we'll just stay for the booze" El smirked and the blonde laughed.
Dustin couldn't help the small smile which came to his face when he watched the blonde laugh. He had always loved that laugh even though he convinced himself he hated the girl. He always told himself he wanted to be near the girl for the prime reason of pissing Asha off but deep down he just wanted to be closer to her.
