Dustin and Asha both walked into class, Dustin quickly took a seat next one of his friends leaving Ash to stand awkwardly by the door trying to find a seat.
"Asha sit next to me" Asha saw Becca pointing to the empty chair between both her and Brandt.
Smiling appreciatively at Bec and giving Brandt a side eye she sat down.
"Young man in the care bear hoodie" the teacher said to Maya.
"That's a girl"
"Oh sorry, what did you do over the holidays?"
Maya got up and made her way to front of the classroom and started to reenact a movie her and Anna had watched together.
Asha along with the rest of the class burst out laughing at her.
"Hey Ash" Becca whispered and Asha turned to face her, "yeah?"
"Are you and Dustin like a thing or something?" Bec asked curiously and Ash's eyes widened in surprise, "ew no, he's annoying as fuck"
"Oh sorry it's just he keeps looking at you so I just thought you guys were like dating" Becca explained.
"No I've only been at this school for like a day and doesn't he like Maya anyways?" Ash asked and Bec tried to hold back a laugh, "no gross" she laughed, "what do you mean 'gross'?" Ash questioned, "shes UGIS" Bec said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world though it didn't ring any bells for Asha, "whats UGIS?"
"Ugliest Girl In School" Bec shrugged.
"That's so fucked up-"
"Girls this is not the time for a conversation" Miss scolded from from her desk and Bec and Ash quickly turned back to their own work.
Asha looked up at Dustin who was sat at the front of the classroom only to see him already looking at her, she furrowed her eyebrows and he quickly turned away. What a weirdo, Asha thought.

Looking towards Brandt she saw him looking at Maya with a weird sort of look making Ash snort. He turned to look at her, "what?" He snapped and she laughed even more, "for someone who says Maya is UGIS the looks your giving her suggest otherwise" Ash smirked and he scoffed and rolled his eyes, "can you fuck off jeez, Dust said you were annoying".
"Dude, I'm just saying no need to get all defensive" Asha shrugged, "I'm not"
"Miss Brown again, if you talk once more during my class there will be a detention" Miss lectured and the girl apologised.

Asha stood with her new found friends Heather, Becca and Connie in the hallway.
"Guys I'm gonna go to the toilet" Ash let her friends know and they all nodded.
From inside the stall the girl heard someone come into the bathroom and it sounded as if someone was crying.
"They're right, I'm ugly, I'm a freaking freak, I'm UGIS" a girl cried and Asha immediately recognised the voice to be Maya.
"If UGIS was a magical unicorn than yeah you are UGIS" Anna reassured her crying friend.
"No you don't understand, I'm UGIS, loving me is an insult" Maya cried and Asha felt a pang in her chest for the girl. Although she knew Maya could be very cocky and easily influenced it still didn't change the fact that what those jerks did was fucked up.
Asha walked out of her stall and the two girls jumped and Maya wiped her face quickly.
"You okay Maya?" Asha asked sincerely and Maya shook her head and tears spooled out of her eyes once again and Anna and Asha wrapped their arms around the hurting girl.
"Then I'd be insulted the greatest" Anna whispered and Asha inwardly smiled at the two best friends, despite the fact that she knew she would never truly be apart of their duo she still admired their strong friendship and seeing her cousin so happy. She hoped she could one day find a friendship as strong as theirs.
