When the last period was over, I met up with Ryan at my locker. I was partially thinking about the history test tomorrow I still need to study for. He leaned against the lockers, crushing his backpack behind him, and his duffle bag slung around his torso.

"You don't look too happy, " I pestered. He glared at me as I took the stuff I need.

"I have to go to karate, then I have to ask Ms. Tshona to lend a studio again, how do you think I feel?"

"Someone's on their period," I joked.

"That doesn't even make sense."

"You were begging me to dance in the show, and now your all Mr. Grumpy Pants," I playfully pouted after I closed the metal door and adjusted my bag. I turned to him, with him staring at me with those extremely cute puppy dog eyes.

"Do you maybe..." I rolled my eyes then looked up at him, expecting me to say something.

"Do you mind me accompanying you to practice?" I asked in one tone. He usually wants me to come with him, and I don't know why.

"You're the best!" He pounced on me before pecking me on the forehead and I immediately started blushing. He grabbed my hand and led me to his car.

We jammed out to Meghan Trainer as Ryan drove us to the dojo. He parked in the lot and we got out. We entered the building then through the short curtains.

"Ah! Skylar you're back again!" The man greeted. I've always went to karate lessons since Ryan started.

"As always Master Leong!"

"Oh, master huh?" he flustered.

"Uh... Sensei I'm here too."

"Oh hey Ryan, I didn't see you there," he said awkwardly. I giggled behind my hand, as Ryan's mouth dropped open, "haha! I'm just kidding, you can start warm ups, Skylar dear, you know where to go." We both nodded and went in different directions.

I sat in the front booth with a the thick edge seperating me from the actual mat. Ryan takes personal lessons with two other members. I pulled out a textbook and notes for my history test tomorrow. I started reading them, but my attention shifted to the door creaking open. I jerked my head to see two males, about the same age as me, push through the curtain.

"Oh hey Skylar!" He waved to me and I responded the same.

"What up John, how are you doing Gordo?" I greeted. They smiled as 'great'.

"We're here Master Lele," John said. I giggle through my hand.

"I love this 'Master' thing, but I'm not a fan of the 'Lele' part." Lele, Leong? See what I'm getting here? Sorry proceed.

While Ryan was distracted by the 'Lele' act, Gordon snuck to the opposite side of him.

"SNEAK ATTACK!!!" He screamed while sending him a fly kick to the back, causing him to face plant the mat.

"Argh!" He let out, "what the hell Gordon?" He said pushing himself up. I was killing myself trying to hold back laughter, as I kept my hand over my mouth.

"Hey, you gotta learn to stay alert," Gordon lectured.

"Samurai 101!" I yelled, remembering what I read in the text.

"See Skylar knows that, and you don't even let her practice with us," John pointed out. He rolled his eyes, and continued stretching, with the guys joining this time.

Ryan doesn't want me to do things that can put me out there. If I learn karate I can get into a fight and he said it can ruin my innocence, which I don't get because he hasn't gotten into any fights. The ladies dig it though, sometimes they go to far with flirting and I wished I knew martial arts.

Since the three are in their second degree black belts, they can have some fun while taking tests. Which means sparring in challenging ways. This time it was one against two. Rules are; Once you are down, you are out, and no choke holds, blood, etc. Scoring; Technique, skill, time, and strategy. The goal is... To take out both opponents at the fastest time. Testing for belt rank is next week, so this fiasco is just a practice.

It's Ryan's turn, with John coming in at three minutes and 26 seconds, and Gordon at three minutes and 19 seconds. He just has to beat Gordo and he should be fine, the only thing is, those two are a level higher than him, chances for him beating them is 20%. I always come to this dojo to study while Ryan does his thing, but I always end up watching their lesson. Master Leong is a very interesting instructor.

Ryan got into his stance and his expression changed. Sensei blew the whistle and they were off in a quick second. Gordon and John charged at him, taking turns striking a move. I could see Ryan losing his pace and slow down. He got pissed and did the weirdest combination I've even seen him do, I always observe how they fight, it's fun. His opponents charged at him is different directions this time, he ducked causing them to run past each other. He took John's arm and flipped him over his shoulder, making him crash on his back. He quickly kneeled down, swinging his leg, tripping Gordon. He bounced back up and Master Leong blew his whistle.

"Seven minutes and 59 seconds!" I started laughing again, this time I dropped on the floor tearing up.

"How hard is it to take out two guys at once Ray?" I laughed.

"I'm sorry, I had to go against level five, second degree black belts," he said annoyed.

"Yeah, but how hard can it be, you're being ranked in level four," I smiled.

"I'd like to see you try," he smirked.

"I would, but you won't let me." I crossed my arms and tilted my head.

"If you can beat three second degree black belt, I may consider you take lessons with us."

"Woah dude, isn't that going a bit far?" John asked placing his hand on Ryan's shoulder.

"Joe's right, forget the belt ranking, three guys against one girl is bad enough?" Gordon stepped in. That really hit the spot.

"Oh so a girl can't take on three, is that what your saying?" I spat standing up. They looked at each other then nodded back at me. I smirked, "alright, I accept the challenge." Their faces changed as I took off my sneakers and stepped on the mat.

"Sky, babe, you're wearing a skirt," Ryan shocked.

"So what, I'm wearing shorts underneath."

"Alright whatever you say, but if I sense that you are hurt we're stopping this," he paused then smirked, "let's make a deal," that got my attention, "if we win you have to say 'Master' in front of our names, every time you see us."

"And if I win," a smirk crept on my lips, "you three have to wear a banana suit and do as I say."

"Like what?"

"I'll decide that after I win."

"Oooooh I like this feisty Skylar, can we keep her?!" Gordon complimented. The three guys ignored him and stood a meter away, surrounding me. Master Leong was on his phone for five minutes, which gave me enough time to stretch and think up my strategy. I stood there with a balancing stance and waited for the whistle to blow.

"BEEEEE!" Master blew the whistle, "BEGIN!"
