Chapter 11

What do I do? What do I do? Text the girls? Run? Buy my stuff and leave?

My heart was beating out of my chest and my mind was all jumbled up. I had no idea what to do.

"Oh hey," Ryan greeted me, which punched me put of my thoughts.

"H-hey." I smiled as natural as possible and walked next to him, "who's th-this?"

Stop stuttering!

"Oh, is this you're girlfriend?" The girl asked with a hint of disappointment.

"No!" Ryan answered instantly, "she's not my girlfriend! Well, she is my girl friend, but not a girlfriend-"

"Ryan, she gets it," I said it straight forwardly. My heart was ripped into pieces and my stomach felt queasy, but they didn't need to know that.

"I'm Keena Ruby, call me Key," she introduced herself with a chuckle and stuck out her hand for me to shake.

"Sky-Skylar Diamond." I took her hand and she shook it. SHE shook it, I just gave her my trembling hand and SHE shook it. Her hands are really soft though. Like peach fur soft. She smells nice too. Like fruity and sweet.

WHAT AM I SAYING?!?!

"Key's an artist, ya know? Like drawing, painting, and sculpting, and animating, and-"

"I think she gets it, Ry," Kenna giggled.

Ry? Key? They just met and now they're calling each other by nicknames? It took Ryan a year before calling me Sky.

Skylar, you need to chill.

I AM CHILL!

"Skylar's a singer," Ryan said with my full name. Why did that bother me more than it should?

"Oh that's so cool! I can't find a voice actor for my animated film, maybe you can help me out in the future!" She chirped.

I'm a singer, not a voice actress.

Stop!

"Yeah yeah, totally," I played off.

"Great! Ryan has my number so I can contact you through him, right?"

No.

Skylar!

What? He already has her number and they just met!

At least be nice!

Why am I having a mental argument with myself?

"O-of course!" I said with my insides crumbling down.

"Awesome!" She praised, "well, I gotta get going, I'll see you two around!" I nodded with a forced grin while Ryan had a full on smile and waving his hand.

"Holy cow, I am so uncool," Ryan huffed with sweat dripping from his neck. My smile completely disappeared, but Ryan was so caught up with Keena, he didn't even notice.

"Really?" I said with a monotoned voice as I went up to the cashier and paid for my snacks.

"She's so pretty, her voice is so addicting, and her hair, oh my god, her hair was silky-"

"Stop fangirling and pay for your stuff," I grumbled as the cashier waited for the money. I began walking toward the exit and looked at my phone.
