Chapter 21
We were supposed to be meeting up with my sister at some restaurant halfway between our houses. I really didn’t feel up to it but Alex said that it was probably best considering she would just be freaked out if she didn’t see for herself that we were alright. So here I sit with my two boyfriend’s waiting for my sister to arrive.
“ADRIAN!” She squealed when she saw me. She ran from the door to the table we were sitting at and wrapped her arms around my neck from behind the chair as she buried her face in my hair. Paul snorted from next to me at the over dramatics of it all and Alex simply smiled knowing for himself how she could get.
“Please let go of me…I’m struggling to breathe…” I managed to get out before she loosened her grip on me.
“I was so scared for you. I thought that if they could break into your house that they probably could figure out where you went and then you wouldn’t know they were coming and something could have happened. Then when I found out you were back my mind was racing with all the things that could have happened to you in that short period of time.” She rushed out.
“I have two strong men at my beck and call I don’t think anything would have happened.” I told her to which she just grinned.
“Yeah I suppose you’re right.” She agreed before sitting down in an empty seat.
“So where’s Christian?” Alex asked, you could hear the indifference in his voice. We all knew he was simply trying to make conversation. Elle’s cheeks tinted red knowing that he was probably still pissed about the whole situation.
“Um…He just went to go park the car.” She responded looking around for him now. She spotted him at the door scanning the room for us. When he found us he began to make his way over to where we were, sitting down next to Elle he smiled politely and greeted the entire table.
“Hey…I’m glad to hear that you guys are okay, I heard about the break-in and everything.” He told us looking genuinely worried about us. I smiled back warmly at him trying to ease his fears. It was nice to know that Elle had found someone who was sweet and caring even if he barely knew us.
“We’re fine Christian but thanks for worrying.” I told him.
“Of course I worry. You mean so much to your sister and therefore you mean a lot to me.” He replied sweetly as he reached across the table to place his hand on top of mine. Things just went from sweet to creep in a matter of seconds. Looking down at his hand on top of mine I grimaced as he rubbed his thumb slowly along my hand. I think he noticed that and retracted his hand sheepishly.
“Yeah…So what are we eating?” He asked changing the subject. I noticed the change in subject and so did Paul because the look on his face was close to murderous. He hated when I flirted but he absolutely hated when other people flirted with me, especially if they knew that I was in a relationship.
“What the hell was th-” Paul began to ask until I jabbed him in his side.
“What are you getting Elle?” I asked trying to switch the attention to someone else. I did not need Paul or Alex getting jealous of my sister’s boyfriend. The waitress came over and took our orders before bringing the food back to the table.
“So what are you guys going to do about this whole thing?” Christian asked us as he dug into his meal.
“Not sure yet.” Alex spoke for us not even looking up at Christian.
“What do you mean you’re not sure yet?” He asked, setting down his fork and looking up at us three.
“Just what we said.” Paul responded sounding a bit irritated. “We haven’t spoken about it yet and until we do we won’t what actions we will be taking. Simple as that.”
