The next weekend rolled by quickly. Vikram and Divya were kept busy with work the entire week. And when Friday finally arrived, Vikram could not be happier. He had been sleep deprived the past couple of days managing to get only 3 hours each night. Individually. the nights did not make much of a difference. But when the pattern repeated he knew his sleep cycle was fucked.
Divya came home to a sleeping Vikram on the bed. She had received a text from him earlier saying that he was going home to rest a little. Despite the message she had dropped asking if everything was okay, he hadn't replied.
They had another charity ball tonight. And in order to make to it on time, Divya realised they would have to leave in an hour. Vikram's parents had flown down to Delhi earlier in the day. There were some social engagements to take care of.
Divya decided to wake him up. It was 7. Which meant that he would have had a good 3 hour nap.
"Vikram, vikram."
He hummed in response.
"We need to leave for the ball."
She received a hum again.
"Wake up, you can sleep at the hotel after the ball."
He hummed again.
"We will leave the party early, come on."
Divya shook him by the shoulder making him open his eyes finally. He sighed and flipped around on his stomach, pulling the comforter over his head.
"Get up already Vikram." she said tugging the comforter away.
Vikram groaned lowly and pulled her down making her sit next to his sleeping form. He threw his arm around her waist, pulled the comforter up again and whispered into the pillow, "Sleep."
Divya rolled her eyes and looked at him sideways, surprised at the sudden movement. But it was warm and cozy inside the comforter. He was warm. And hot too. They did not HAVE to go to the ball, did they?
"As much as I had like to pull this over my head and go to sleep, it wouldn't be appropriate to skip the ball." she explained, a little breathlessly due to the grip from a certain someone. She concluded that he hadn't exactly realised the position they were in because of the sleep.
He was asleep already. Ugh.
Taking a deep breath, she pushed the covers off their feet.
"Get up, now!"
Having no choice in the matter now, Vikram groaned and sat up. They had to be there.
"I will have my revenge someday."
And Divya rolled her eyes.

The ballroom was set up in an elegant hotel, with a live orchestra playing soulful music in the background. The dance floor was crowded with romantics; both, young and old. The orchestra played a sensuous song by Kenny Rogers and the crowd moved to a rhythmic shuffle. The prince and princess moved together on the dance floor.
Vikram had his arm wrapped around her waist while the other guided their steps. Divya looked gorgeous in her long, magenta cowl neck gown. He was dressed in a formal midnight blue suit.
"We decided on 40 minutes." he said leaning forward to dip her.
"And it has been 30. We will go back to the suite in 10, I promise." she said while being guided forward.
