Vikram woke up to an empty bed the next morning. Not that it was something new, one of them always woke up before the other one. However, given their little talk last night, he had been hoping to get to know her better, develop trust.

Pushing the covers off himself, he got up from the bed. He glanced at her closet door which was shut. She must be showering, he thought. He was slightly late than his usual time to wake up.

Just as he took one step in the direction of his own closet room, he heard her door click open. He turned around to see a very crisply dressed Divya strapping a watch to her wrist.

She glanced up to see him looking back at her wordlessly.

"Hi" he found himself saying for no reason and almost instantly rolled his eyes internally.

"Hey, good morning." she replied.

Vikram moved his fingers through his hair in an unsuccessful attempt to push back the strands falling on his head.

Divya gulped, ok that was sexy.

"Ah, we have the joint meeting today. The merger is coming along well." Vikram said. To be honest, he was proud of himself to have come up with it to talk about.

"Yeah, Aniket told me." she said referring to her PA.

"I will get ready for the day." he said. She settled herself on the couch, waiting for him so that they could leave for breakfast.

-

Everyday breakfast had never been so amusing to Kabir. For some reason which was beyond Divya and Vikram,  he had been throwing teasing smiles their way. His parents seemed to smile at them every now and then too. They had been flustered by the end of breakfast.

Had they found out about the two of them giving their marriage another shot? But that wasn't possible.

"What are you so happy about?" Vikram asked, sarcasm dripping in his tone as they walked towards the porch to get into cars and leave for work.

The question caught Divya's attention too.

"Nothing, err. It is a bright morning, very mood uplifting. That's it." Kabir answered trying to hold back another smile.

"Oh, spit it." Vikram said with a smack on his head.

Kabir swatted his hand away, running his fingers through his hair to make sure they weren't disturbed.

"Fine." Kabir started, "Divya called you by your name during breakfast."

Divya looked up from whatever she was trying to find in her purse. "What?" she asked only to realise that it echoed as a certain someone asked the same question. They looked at each other realising they had said the same thing and looked away embarrassed.

"Aww."

"Shut up."

"Shut up."

And Kabir burst out laughing while Divya and Vikram looked at each other mortified.

"What else are we supposed to call each other?" Vikram asked annoyed.

Before Kabir could reply with the retort weighing on the tip of his tongue, Vikram said, "You know what, don't answer that."

And just like that he strode ahead leaving a flustered Divya behind with a very mirthful Kabir.
