76. Death In The Sky

Remus and Tonks didn't get to have a nice long honeymoon, as the Order had to come first. And the top thing on the Order's agenda, was moving Harry before he turned 17 and the protective magic around him stopped working.
With Dumbledore dead, Moody had taken over running the Order, and it was he who had devised the plan to get Harry safely from Privet Drive to the Burrow.
Mundungus had helped too, by suggested using Polyjuice Potion, and having several Harry's moving in the sky, to throw off any death eaters.

Raya wanted to be a part of the mission, but she was turned down, because even she couldn't throw knives at moving targets several hundred feet in the air.
She also couldn't use a broom, so would be no use as a guardian.
Jamie and Ginny had wanted to help as well, but they had been shut down pretty quickly, because they were underage.
But there was nothing Raya could do to stop the rest of the people she cared about, going on the dangerous mission.
And even though she was worried for their safety, bringing Harry back in one piece was what mattered most.

When the day arrived, Raya found herself pacing around the kitchen in the Burrow, desperately waiting for news.
Sophia was peacefully asleep upstairs, Ginny and Jamie were sat on the sofa, and Molly kept making cups of tea to distract herself.
The first Portkey arrived by itself, which sent Raya into a state of panic, as that should've brought Ron and Tonks back.
And when the second Portkey came back empty, without Arthur and Fred, Raya began to suspect that something had gone badly wrong on the mission.
She did her best not to break down and cry in front of everyone, but it wasn't easy.

Raya wasn't holding out much hope for anyone to arrive, but when the third Portkey appeared with two figures, her heart skipped a beat.
"Harry!" Shouted Raya, as she sprinted into the garden and threw her arms around her godson.
"Thank Merlin you're safe" she continued.
"Where are the others?" Demanded Molly, who had followed Raya outside.
"What do you mean? Is no one else back yet?" Asked Harry.
"No, you're the first" revealed Raya.
"We were ambushed by death eaters as soon as we took off" explained Hagrid, who had been flying Sirius's bike with Harry.

Another loud bang made everyone jump, and they looked over to see Remus and George stumbling towards them.
Raya sighed in relief when she saw her brother, but she gasped loudly when she saw that he was covered in blood.
"Help me" begged Remus.
Raya ran forward and placed one arm around George, helping Remus carry him inside.
"Merlin's beard, his ear" murmered Raya, when she saw that George's ear had completely disappeared, which explained why him and Remus were covered in blood.
Remus didn't respond, instead he placed George onto the sofa and then shoved Harry into the wall.
"Remus, let go of Harry!" Shouted Raya, as she tried to pull him off her godson.

"In a minute. What creature sat in my office, the first time Harry Potter entered my office at Hogwarts?" Questioned Remus, pointing his wand at Harry.
"Um, a Grindylow in a tank, right?" Asked Harry.
Remus sighed, and released Harry.
"What was that about?" Demanded Hagrid.
"Someone knew Harry was being moved tonight. I had to check he wasn't an imposter" explained Remus.
"If you try and push my son up against the wall, you will get a knife thrown at you" warned Raya.
"Him and Ginny have been here all day, so any Polyjuice Potion would have worn off by now. Besides, I'm pretty sure you would have noticed if your own son had been behaving weirdly all day" replied Remus.

"Why haven't you checked me?" Quizzed Hagrid.
"You're a half-giant, the Polyjuice Potion is only meant for humans" answered Remus.
"You didn't check Raya either" commented Hagrid.
"I know my sister. I would know if she was an imposter. No one could fool me into thinking that they were her. I know how she talks, how she stands, even her mannerisms. Trust me, if she was an imposter, I would know about it".

"I'm also a Squib. So, no one would want to pretend to be me, as they wouldn't be able to have their wand on them. Because if you saw me carrying a wand, you would instantly be suspicious" admitted Raya.
"Exactly" agreed Remus.
"Remy, Tonks missed her Portkey" Raya said quietly.
"I'm sure she's fine" Remus replied quickly, refusing to let his emotions out.
"Yes, I'm sure she is" mumbled Raya.
