"Aww, look at you, still wearing that ring," Sandra giggled drunkenly, her high-pitched voice echoing in the dark alley. She was gripping onto my arm for dear life as she wobbled down the sidewalk, all the shots she had taken at the party taking their toll.
"Oh Jesus," I pulled the silly-looking ring off my finger and threw it to the ground. "That guy was a total freak," I scoffed, furrowing my brows. All I wanted was to get home as soon as possible. The clown had creeped me out completely. Who the hell gets a plastic ring from a gumball machine and gifts it to a stranger? With no words as well?
I kept looking over my shoulder, feeling as if somebody was watching us. Maybe it was just my delusions after all... Beside our footsteps and Sandra's grumbling the alley was eerily quiet.
"Oh, come on, he was such a sweetheart; he literally got you a ring!" Sandra knickered, but quickly shut up as I elbowed her. She had a tendency to ship me with any guy whom I had the smallest interaction with, and I wasn't fond of that.
"From a fucking gumball machine? Really?" I couldn't believe how drunk she was at this point.
"Well fine, let's just forget about him. The party was really cool though," she said, a satisfied smirk plastered on her face. It took every last bit of self-control in me not to punch some logical thinking into her. She had somehow managed to humiliate herself and me in front of the guy I was talking to. She had taken it too far tonight.
"I mean, apart from you getting drunk like an animal and us getting kicked out of the party, then yeah. It was cool," I looked at Sandra, disappointment written all over my face.
"Jesus, Y/n, why you gotta be so grumpy?" She whined as we approached her car. All of a sudden all her whining stopped as her gaze fell to the front right tire.
"What the hell?!" she gasped. It was flat. I exhaled in frustration and leaned onto the front of the vehicle. This was going to be fun...
"WHY DO THESE THINGS KEEP ON HAPPENING TO ME TODAY?!! WHY THE HELL?!!" Sandra screamed at the top of her lungs, throwing her hands angrily.
"Sheesh calm down," I groaned and rolled my eyes. I was not in the mood to be listening to her wailing. My head was throbbing. "Maybe you just drove over a nail or something. Don't you have like a spear one in the back?" I asked, not seeing what was the big deal.
"Well yeah, I do...but I don't know how to change it..." Sandra said quietly, fidgeting with her fingers and looking at me with a guilty look.
"Oh lord..." I mumbled and pinched the bridge of my nose. "I guess I'll just call my sister to come pick us up, " I shrugged, grabbing the phone out of my pocket and dialling the number.
"Thank you," Sandra mouthed and blew me a kiss. Looser.
