God knows how much time I spent in this basement, and how much more I'll have to spend. I was tired.
No matter how much I hated it, my anger for Art seemed to be fading away, as something else, much more pleasant replaced it.
Eventually, Art sighed and stood up. "I can't keep you in here forever."
As if he was planning to.
He extended his arm and helped me up.
"You know, usually when I see my victim, my blood boils. I want to hurt it badly. I want to smash its skull, tear its limbs apart, and leave it there to suffer."
Art was walking around the room, as I just stood there, feeling lucky he didn't smash my skull and torn my limbs yet.
"When I saw you, I felt the same rage, that's why I attacked you. But after you ran away I realized it wasn't the same. I didn't want to hurt you anymore. The rage was gone. I felt empty."
He paused and looked at me to make sure I was still listening.
It was hard to comprehend what he was telling me. I thought for a moment.
"So even though you didn't want to hurt me anymore, you still caught me because..."
I looked him straight in the eye as I realized.
"because you wanted to keep me here...to yourself?"
He silently nodded.
"I know this might seem weird to you but I wanted you to stay."
It took me some time to form a sentence in my head.
"If you wanted me to stay... why did you still threaten me?"
Art sighed.
"This is not something I can explain easily I-... " he shook his head then stepped toward me and sighed. "I want you to know that I'm not real."
I was completely lost.
"I'm an entity, and I only appear on Halloween night to kill and terrify, then I disappear again."
Art noticed that I still wasn't satisfied with his answer as to why he threatened me.
"As for an entity, it is hard to express any other emotions than anger and madness. I'm not used to feeling love or compassion, so I fail in expressing them."
My stomach turned at his words. I was terrified by the fact he was an entity, but the fear quickly faded away as he explained everything else.
Art seemed distressed. I wanted to comfort him, but couldn't find the right words. As I took a step toward him my stomach tingled again.
I noticed Art slightly blush. My heart beat faster every time we stepped closer to each other.
Our bodies got so close I could feel his breath on my skin. My heart was beating like crazy. Art was very tense.
My eyes were locked with his. We stood there admiring each other when finally our lips met. My cheeks were burning.
As I gently kissed Art's soft lips, he relaxed a bit. All the anxiety faded and we both got lost in the kiss.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling myself closer. Warmth washed over my body. One of Art's hands cupped my cheek as the other rested on my hip. My knees weakened as he pulled me into a more passionate kiss. His hand felt warm and a bit rough.
I wished for this moment to last forever, but eventually, Art slowly pulled away from the kiss and wrapped his hands around my waist.
"This is love," I gently smiled.
