"I'm freezing," Sandra mumbled, a shiver running down her spine as she wrapped her arms around herself, her skin covered in goosebumps. Following her lead, I rubbed my hands together to warm them up. The night was getting colder as the minutes slowly ticked by. The tight skull dress with cut-out shoulders that I was wearing and the socks barely above my knees didn't do much to provide any warmth.
"I gotta pee," I announced suddenly, giving Sandra the most serious look ever. "Really? Like right now?" she looked at me in disbelief before shrugging. "I mean, it's dark outside. You know...nobody's gonna see you," she said innocently.
"You serious?!" I raised my eyebrows at her rebellious idea. "I'm not gonna just go outside and pee under every tree like you do," I exclaimed, my voice laced with disgust as I crossed my arms.
"I don't do that!" she protested, looking at me offended. "I guess you'll just have to hold it in-" I whined, cutting her off. I was cold, tired, and to top it all off, I felt like my bladder was going to explode any moment. "-or you could ask that creepy-looking guy if there's a toilet inside that house," she pointed to a man that had just emerged from an old apartment.
The guy was...creepy, to say the least. The street lights reflected on his bald head as he lit a cigarette. He had a dark blue jumpsuit on which was dirtied with paint. I couldn't lie; he did give off pervy vibes. But with the situation I was in right now, I couldn't care less. With a determined look on my face, I hurried to open the car door and quickly jumped outside.
"H- hey, that was a joke!" Sandra shouted as she realized I took it seriously, but I slammed the door shut and ran over to the guy who was standing on top of the stairs. "Excuse me?" I spoke up, drawing his attention. "Do you perhaps have a toilet in that house that I could use?"
The man studied my features closely, his eyes narrowing as he took a drag of his cigarette. "There is one. But it's not my place, I shouldn't let any strangers in..." he shook his head, not convinced by my plea. "It's an emergency," I said eagerly.
"JUST LET HER USE THE GODDAMN TOILET!" Sandra's voice echoed from the open car window, drawing our attention. "Your friend?" the guy asked with an amused expression on his face. My cheeks turned red from second-hand embarrassment, though he didn't seem to mind it.
"Yeah, don't mind her, she's drunk," I explained apologetically. The guy thought for a moment, giving me a once-over before speaking again. "Fine, I'll let you in," he exhaled. "But try to make it quick."
"Of course," I smiled gratefully, sighing with relief. Immediately upon entering, I noticed that it wasn't a regular house. The walls were just concrete and there was no furniture whatsoever. It seemed to be some sort of warehouse or a garage. Anyway, the building gave me the creeps.
I made a mental note of the path as we walked down to the basement. The place was loaded with car tyres, metal rods, concrete debris, construction tools and other random stuff. It was dirty as hell. As we finally reached the bathroom, I peeked over the corner, only to see a toilet that seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, which it probably wasn't. I clenched my jaw, slowly turning back to the guy. I guess it was better than nothing...
"Do you want me to wait or do you remember the way out?" he asked awkwardly, making a weird facial expression. I cringed, but still gave him a tight-lip smile. "I remember the way out, thanks."
"Alrighty then," the guy smiled and waved goodbye, leaving me in the empty basement. Creep.
