Jimin:

Jimin sat at breakfast, blushing under Jungkook's smirk from across the canteen, when the head of the camp came on over the loudspeaker.

"Folks, this is the final week of camp, so we are going to get started with planning our weekend show.  On the south wall of the canteen, you'll see sign up sheets for different singing and acting performances that the counselors have planned.   Individuals and small groups are also able to submit a personal performance if they find a counselor to sign off on supervising them.  Those sheets can be picked up on the table at the end."

A few minutes later, Jimin stood between Taehyung and Montero, looking at the choices on the wall.

"What are you guys going to sign up for?" Jimin asked.

"I'm signing up for an individual or duet singing performance," said Montero, as he put his name down on the paper under the counselor who was organizing singing performances.

"Hmm, Taehyung?"

"Oh I'll probably do this group dance!"  Taehyung said excitedly as he saw the dance sign-up sheet.  "Jimin, you want to sign up with me?"

Something clicked in Jimin's brain and he smiled coyly.

"No, I have another idea..." he said with a smirk, and picked up a sheet off the table.

Jungkook:

"Jungkook?"

Jungkook was fully focused on his job, scanning the lake side to side as he monitored the swimmers, but his boss's voice pulled him out of his reverie.

"Huh?" He said, blinking as he tried to focus his eyes on his boss, so close beside him now compared to the swimmers he had been watching.

"The camp head wants to talk to you," shrugged his boss, who was the head lifeguard.

Jungkook's heart rate shot through the roof.  He choked on his own saliva. The camp head wants to talk to me?  That had never happened before in four years of working at this camp.

"Um..." he tried to think, "...about what?"

"One of the campers, I think?" His boss sounded unconcerned but Jungkook felt as if he might faint at any moment. He knew his face was as white as a sheet and tried not to look directly at his boss, as he tried his best to hide his fear.

He walked in a trance to the camp head's office, thoughts swirling through his head.

You fool, how could you risk this job?

It's for Jimin. How much does this job even matter without Jimin? His heart pounded ferociously.

He's like a child—a child who seduced you against your will!

Not against your will, you were already whipped for him before he even came onto you, that's why he was able to be successful.

He paused in front of Bang-ssi's door, and took a deep breath and knocked.

"Yes?"

"Um, it's Jungkook?  Kim-ssi said you wanted to talk to me?"

"Ah yes, Jungkook the lifeguard, please come in."

Jungkook closed the door behind him.  Mr. Bang was not usually an intimidating man, and today he smiled at Jungkook when he walked in.  But Jungkook was still terrified.

"So this isn't normal for a lifeguard to sign off to supervise a final performance, but Jimin assured me you were the only one who could do it."

Jungkook's heart continued to race, but now he was confused more than scared.  Mr. Bang watched his face closely.

"Jimin did ask you before he put your name down, right, Jungkook-ssi?" he asked, eyes narrowing.

Jungkook swallowed.

"Um, yeah, but I was a little distracted when he was talking to me..." Jungkook lied.

Mr. Bang pushed a paper across the table.  It was filled with neat, intentional handwriting.  Jimin's, he realized.

Park Jimin, final performance proposal: dance duet; Supervisor: Jeon Jungkook; Other performers: Jeon Jungkook

Jungkook looked up from the paper at Mr. Bang, who was studying his face perceptively.

"Ah, yes, the dance performance," Jungkook lied again.

"Jimin said he wants to do a duet and that none of the other campers or counselors is a skilled enough dancer to pair with him except you." He looked more concerned at Jungkook studying the paper furiously. "He did talk to you and get your approval on this?"

Jungkook cleared his throat and nodded.

"Um, yes, but since I've never done the final performance before... I mean, when are Jimin and I supposed to practice?  And...where?"

"Most of the campers are working on their performances every evening this week, and we've set aside all of Saturday to practice.  There will be a dress rehearsal Saturday, and final performances Sunday afternoon for the parents before all the campers go home.   In terms of where, there is the dance studio with mirrors but you guys will have to share with other dancing performances, so you might need to find other places to practice, as well."

Jungkook swallowed, and nodded silently.

"Are you sure you are up to this, Jungkook?  Jimin said you had agreed...but it's not too late to back out, if it's more than you had bargained for."

Jungkook met his eyes and forced a smile on his face.

"Nah, it will be fun!" Jungkook said brightly.   And he couldn't deny the way his heart pounded at an excuse to spend extra alone time with Jimin.

Let's just hope I can handle the choreo for the  dance he picks, Jungkook thought, or more accurately, let's hope I can handle watching him do the choreo without getting hard or having hearts in my eyes in front of the entire camp.

He sighed, and walked back to his job, resigned that a sneaky teenager had taken the reins in his heart, and he wasn't in control any more.
