~Chapter 7~
*Lee’s POV*
I could hear Ian talking to Amanda all during French. When the teacher gave her detention, she started to fake cry and he actually believed her. When he turned around, she smiled triumphantly and started passing notes with Ian. ‘What could they possibly be talking about?’ I thought. As Amanda went to stand up, Ian knocked into her and whispered something into her ear. She nodded, and then followed me to our next class, English. She seemed preoccupied with something so I let her be. Oh no, she couldn’t be…no it’s impossible…she’s only known him for like two hours, how could she be falling for him already? I’ll have to discuss this with Temmy later and then confront Amanda about what she and Ian were talking about. We went into English, found Temmy, and then sat down at one of the tables in the front. Ian came in soon after us and seemed to be searching the room for someone. His gaze landed on us and then his face fell. I realized that since the tables only sat three people, he couldn’t sit with us again. He and Amanda seemed to be having a silent conservation and Temmy just looked confused.
“I’ll tell you later,” I promised Temmy.
Ian sighed and seemed to give in while Amanda smiled victoriously.
“What was that all about?” I asked curiously.
“Ian wanted me to move and sit with him so that I can scare Ashley off.”
“What?” Asked Temmy.
“I’ll explain to you guys later.” Amanda promised us.
In English we are learning about plays and theater and stuff like that. I just blanked out as she went on a lecture about Shakespeare. I tend to be doing that a lot-you know, spacing out. Before I knew it, class was over and it was time for gym, joy. I met up with Amanda and Temmy outside the classroom and together we walked to the gym. After we changed, we joined the huddle around the coach in the middle of the gym.
“Ok so the cheerleaders are allowed to practice while everyone else is doing laps again.”
I smirked, since I wasn’t allowed to run, I couldn’t do laps so I just sat on the bleachers when we went outside. I watched the cheerleaders practice, noticing all of their mistakes. God they were awful. They couldn’t even do a round off back handspring correctly. I looked to where Amanda was running, already way ahead of everyone else. I could see Ian talking to some other guys, one of them the new kid, Cameron I think. He kept repeatedly looking to Amanda, distracted. I narrowed my eyes. What did he want with Amanda? I saw him and the new kid start running faster to catch up to Amanda and I narrowed my eyes even further.
“Be careful Amanda,” I whispered, even though I knew she couldn’t hear me. Whatever Ian wanted it couldn’t be good.
*Amanda’s POV*
I ran far ahead of everyone, trying to avoid Ian. I sighed when I heard footsteps close behind me and his distinctive voice call, “Amanda, wait up!”
I just ran faster when he said that, but he caught up to me anyway as well as his friend, whom I didn’t recognize from any of my other classes.
“Hey, Mandy!” He said. I turned and glared at him.
“Mandy? Really?” I asked.
“Yeah I got tired of saying Amanda, so I’m just going to call you Mandy from now on.”
“Ugh you’re annoying. Just go away.” He pretended to look hurt.
“Why all the hate?”
“Just because I agreed to help you doesn’t mean I like you. You’re still an annoying, conceited, self-centered jerk. Who’s the follower by the way?”
