The bar had just opened so no one was around when Patton and I walked in. I saw Remus was behind the bar sorting some bottles out. Wearing his usual colours. I must've been really tired, because I was certain he was wearing red when he opened up. We sat down, right at the bar, Patton was looking around grimacing at certain decor. Remus turned around and seemed to be pretty shocked."Wow, you're never in this early Drake. Must've missed me" Remus cackled, turning to check out what company I had brought. "And you brought a friend? Now, who is this doe-eyed doll?" Remus asked.
"He's taken Remus, and not your type" I replied as Patton tried to hide his face in his turtleneck.
"I'm asking for a name or is he as secretive as you are?"A few minutes later, when Patton had introduced himself and Remus had nearly made him cry with a really dirty joke, I asked Remus if he'd help find Virgil. After explaining who Virgil was and Remus' celebration of knowing something about me Remus had to decline, saying that he has his hands full with his twin brother. Siblings... they cause such a fuss.
"There's another one of you?" I replied, I couldn't even deal with one Remus, let alone two. Although, I'm shocked that Remus hadn't brought him up before, maybe he had and I tuned it out like white noise. Hey! You'd do the same if you were me and you know it. And just like clockwork, the staff-only door opened. What happened next? I've been told I remember this not quite how it happened but I could of sworn there was a bright, warm light and a silhouette that took the breath out of my lungs. It's as if I was dreaming, my mind was hazy, my senses in complete dissarray. Was it madness? Was it an angel?
"Hola campesinos" said the silhouette, and it was around here when my brain started working again. Did it just call us peasants? In Spanish?
"Roman, don't call my customers peasants, especially when you're a freeloader"
"I am NOT!"
"See? Hands. Full!" Remus complained, looking towards me, who was perhaps possibly slightly distracted with this 'Roman'. Who had now left the doorway, offering me the opportunity to get a better look. He definitely was Remus' twin, identical twin at that. It's crazy how Remus' mustache seperates the two though. Roman was completely clean-shaven, and my goodness Roman was appropriately named. He looked like a god had dressed up as mortal for the day. Maybe I was going insane? I've looked at Remus so many times, and nothing like this ever happened. It was enchanting, amazing, what was happening to me? I needed to snap out of it, but I didn't-
Slap
"Stop drooling at my brother Drake, it's making me sick" The culprit comanded, another strike locked and loaded. I came to my senses, everyone was looking at me and it was either the slap to the face that was burning or I was going cherry pie red. And unfortunately it was probable that it was a mixture of both.
"Now, now Remus. It's to be expected, I am practically perfect in every way" Roman said, striking a pose. Oh! So he's gorgeous and shallow.
"YOU'RE A DISNEY FAN?" Patton exploded, practically jumping out of his seat like a puppy that knows he's going for a walk. Me and Remus just looked at each other with the same dead inside expression.
Patton and Roman ended up talking about their childish interests for a while. And in that time I got my usual from Remus as the bar slowly started to fill up with people. The longer I was here the more I grew cautious of the Detective coming in, I couldn't be caught now. Sure, it would mean Patton would be free to and could go to the police if I was caught but I wouldn't trust them to find my brother anyway. Heck! They'd probably say I did it.
I felt my 'normal' phone buzz in my pocket. I checked to see what caused it, and it was a notification from a sort of 'crime' specific news app. And what news it was.
