Chapter 8: The Drive

Third Person POV: 

Y/N and Erina sat next to each other in the car as it drove them back to the school. Y/N glanced at her. Since he had joked about him loving her, she seemed to avoid him. He scratched the back of his neck, "Listen, I am sorry about the joke that I made the other day." Erina jumped in surprise and blushed at the mention of the joke, "It's no problem. Just forget it." Y/N sighed, "It's obvious that you're still embarrassed about it. You've been avoiding me since then. Also, you're family just abducted me because of that joke." Erina was surprised, "What? What are you talking about?" Y/N explained, "Your grandfather has been keeping track of you because he's worried about what happened with the noir chefs. One of his men heard what I said, but didn't hear that it was a joke. That's why I was kidnapped." Erina let out a depressed sigh, "Uh, grandfather. I'm not a little girl. I can take care of myself. And I also have..." Y/N raised a brow, "Yukihira?" Erina was embarrassed by the mention of the red head chef. She became quiet. Y/N decided to follow her example.

A few more minutes passed. Y/N looked out the window and saw that he didn't recognize anything outside. He asked, "Where are we? I don't recognize anything here. How far did they take me?" Erina replied, "We're just a few miles out of Tokyo. My family was very extreme in taking you away." Y/N frowned, "They really did kidnap me. Now I'm worried about my future safety." Erina chuckled, "Now that they understand what happened, they should leave you alone." The H/C head boy hummed and took out his phone. That's when he realized that he had received a notification that said that one of his favorite online manga was updated. He smiled, "Oh, it's been updated. I'll read it now." Erina was surprised by the boy's change in attitude. He never seemed to smile like that. She became curious, "What are you looking at?" Y/N turned to her, "A romance manga that I like was updated online. It's really good. It's about two teenagers who are constantly trying to win against each other. It's really funny and sweet." Erina was even more curious, since she loved romance manga, "Really? What manga is it?" Y/N showed her the phone screen so she could see the title, "It's a relatively new series. It hasn't been officially published as a manga, so it's only available online." Erina nodded and made a mental note to check the manga later, "I see. I only buy physical books. I choose to avoid reading online. It feels like disrespecting the author." Y/N chuckled, "Yeah. I usually read them online and then buy the physical copies. I read them online to make sure that I like the series enough. Make sure that I'm spending my money wisely." Erina smiled, "I see. So you can read for free and support the author later." 

The two continued to talk about their favorite romance manga. While Erina liked vanilla romance manga, Y/N loved romantic comedy and reverse harem manga. However, the two seemed to get along despite the different manga they recommended. Just then, the car stopped. Y/N looked out, "Oh, looks like we're here." Erina frowned, "Oh, I see." The boy said, "Here, I'll give you my number. We can keep talking about romance and other types of manga." Erina nodded, "Sure." The two swapped numbers. Y/N stepped out of the car, "Well, I better get ready for tomorrow and make sure that Tadokoro is prepared too." Erina was puzzled, "What for?" Y/N said, "Oh, we have a date tomorrow. Ok, bye." He walked away as the car drove off. However, Erina slammed her head against the rear window, "What?!??!?!?!?!"
