Caressing his long fingers on the photograph that was taken years ago, Taehyung suppressed the ache in his heart with an automated smile that appeared everytime he looks at the photo.

It was the same photograph that you had. The shallow smile slowly vanished from his lips as his eyes stared at the date in his mobile, it has been a total of 19 days since you left.

He called your number, but you didn't receive it. Later when he tried to call with other mobiles, he found out that you had discarded your number after reaching Japan.

"Was that a part of my punishment?" He chuckled bitterly, trying to suppress the heaviness in his heart but he only felt a surge of aching emotions crepting over him.

"Now I can't even contact you…" Taehyung mumbled as he glided his thumb over the glass frame over your photo.

In the past 19 days, there wasn't even a single day when he didn't call your number. When he got to know you had changed your number, he realised that you really wanted him to stay away from you, in all aspects. He did respect your choice, but the emptiness in his heart cannot be filled.

A month rolled down just like that, with him still trying to get in touch with you while on the other hand, you were having a hard time settling in a country with totally different language and behaviours.

"Taehyung, just sleep now. It's already midnight. I'm still here, you can leave these official things on me." Taehyung's uncle, Kim Woo Bin patted Taehyung's shoulder who was signing some papers while checking a few lists of students.

"I can't leave everything to you ahjussi. Let me be a little responsible too. Also, these files are the ones that I have to sign. Don't worry, just go and sleep. It's so late already…" Taehyung widened his lips to show a smile to his uncle who chuckled and patted the back of his head, "You couldn't contact her, right?"

Woobin's sudden question made Taehyung freeze. His forced smile slowly vanished into thin air while his misty dark eyes kept lingered over the white sheets spread in front of him.

"Do you think you can hide your pain by keeping yourself busy with these things?" Woobin sat on the chair beside Taehyung and chuckled.

"What if she never comes back!" When Taehyung remained silent, Woobin asked the question that had been making him worried for his nephew for awhile now.

Taehyung's dried lips slowly formed into a low smile, his dark eyes glistening, as if coming back to life while he opened his mouth to speak out the words that had been helping him to keep his courage up, "She will…"

••

"At least tell me who's that lucky guy? You can't always dismiss me like this!" Dressed in a gray shirt and black pants, the guy who was almost a head higher than you, whinned like a child as he took the seat in front of you.
While you, on the other hand, decided to focus on the paperwork that you believed was way more important than the guy's usual rantings.

"Min Y/n!!! Stop ignoring me!"

"Park Jimin! Stop disturbing me! There! Your girlfriend has arrived! Go and eat her head rather than poking your nose in my matters!"  Park Jimin, he was known as the secretary of the CEO of the newly arising company, WinterB, but for you, he was almost like a brat brother, always trying to annoy you with his words and acting.

You were glad that you somehow found some Korean people in Japan, Jimin was one of them. The other one was, Minjie, your other secretary, also Jimin's rumoured girlfriend. To be precise, the too were most likely in a 'Complicated relationship'.

"First of all, I'm not his girlfriend! And secondly, here you go! You're on the first page of Vogue Japan today!" Minjie ignored the guy sitting beside her and gave you a magazine, in which a photo of you, as the CEO of WinterB, was pasted on the first page, accompanied by a long article over all the achievements you have gained through all these three years.

Yes, it has been three years since you left Korea. Since you left him.

It was way too hard for you to live in a country with no one familiar by your side. But later as you gained experience in work and started your own business, you met several people who kept joining you to push you towards your success, Jimin and Minjie were one of them.

You had changed your number right after you arrived in Japan, the sole reason was, to let yourself suffer along with him…

"Did you see this magazine too? I have finally succeeded. Are you happy for me too?" Though your mouth was closed and your eyes were fixated on the photo of yourself in the magazine, your heart and mind was lost in his thoughts. It would be an understatement if you would say you didn't miss him, you did. And you knew, he did too.

••

"Aish! This man is already 27 years old and is a principal of a freaking college while he is sticking these stickers on the rooms of his walls like a freaking teenager! Kim Taehyung! Are you for real?" Taehyung let out a low chuckle followed by a heavy sigh as he pasted the front page of Japan's magazine, on the wall right in front of his bed.

"I want to see this as soon as I open my eyes every morning." A proud smile took over the heaviness of his face as he fixatedly stared at your photo.

"I'm so proud of my girlfriend." Woobin widened his eyes as he stared at Taehyung in disbelief, "Young man! I'm an old man now! But don't think that my memory capacity is low! I clearly remember you telling me that you had proposed to her but she never answered you! Then how come she's your girlfriend huh?" Woobin looked as if he was talking to a mentally challenged man.

"Well, she didn't deny though, doesn't that mean, she's still considering me as her boyfriend?" The level of Taehyung's confidence somehow scared the old uncle.

"You haven't been in contact with her for more than  three years! How do you still believe that she is still single? What if she already has a boyfriend?" Woobin snickered, continuing to test the 'used-to-be too impatient guy's' patience, while unsurprisingly, he was as calm as a river.

"She asked me to wait for her, doesn't that mean she will wait for me too?" Taehyung was certain.
By the night, Taehyung was laying on his bed, holding the same photo against his chest, lostly speaking to himself.

"It has been so long. When will you come back?" The tears that he suppresses everyday from everyone, floats like a river on his pillows every night.

He wanted to tell you how proud he was of you. He knew how hard it must have been for you to survive there, while he was surviving alone. He knew you were no different from him.

"Y/n… today when I was taking a stroll to the college, I happened to meet a girl and a boy, fighting over tiny things…" he pursed his lips to hide a smile that was dying to form on his lips and his eyes glistened brightly as he seemed to remember something, "They reminded me of us…"

The night grew darker and he continued to talk with your photo and gave it the daily reports of how he spends his days, just like every night.

••

"Please give me those white roses." Taehyung pointed his finger towards a bouquet full of white roses. After paying for it, he told his driver to go have his lunch, as he might be back after a long time.

Walking inside the cemetery, Taehyung made his way towards a grave decorated with white roses, Kim Taeri, written on the head bricks of the grave.
White roses, they were Taeri's favourite. Taehyung placed the bouquet on the grave after sitting on his knees, caring less about his expensive court getting dirtied by the dust.

"Ri-ah! Happy birthday!" Taehyung smiled with his half-opened eyes as he stared at the grave. "I wish you happiness wherever you are. I miss you…" without letting him know, just like everytime, his tears betrayed him as he stared at the grave of his sister.

"I thought I can do it… but I'm tired…" Taehyung broke into chains of tears as he let out all his sufferings in front of his sister, though she was not there with him, but he knew she was watching him.

"Why do I have to live alone…" Soon after he buried his head in his knees, he felt a soft touch on his shoulder.

He paused and sniffed before slowly raising his head and looking back, only to find you, standing behind him.

"Hey…"

Little did he know, from now on, he didn't have to live alone…
