We drove in silence for more than ten minutes before he stopped the car in front of a tall building that seemed to be made of glass. He didn't say a word when we got out of the car and nodded for me to follow him.

The elevator took us to the 5th floor, where I continued to walk , not understanding what the hell was I doing here and who Barış was taking me to.

"Are you going to tell me what we're doing here?" I said after we stopped in front of a white door.

"Just a moment" - he said and took out keys from his pocket, which he used to open the door. - "Come in, Zeynep..." - he made way for me.

We found ourselves in the middle of an empty apartment. I took a good look around the room before asking again,

"What is this place?" - my voice echoed in the empty room.

"We are here because we have some things to say to each other.."

"Oh? I already thought I had been dreaming for the past months, Barış. You didn't seem at all interested in talking to me since we got back!" - I tried to control my anger.

"I was giving you time-"

"What time for God's sake?! "

"I already told you, Zeynep - it depends on you what will happen to us.. I just wanted to explain everything to you and I did it.. up in the mountains. The decision whether you will forgive me, whether you will talk to me, whether everything will end, it's all in your hands. So I didn't want to put pressure on you."

"And you chose to get on my nerves? " - I dropped my bag on the floor. - "What was this behavior with me today at the meeting? This is not giving time, Barış! "

"I just wanted to teach you a lesson!"

"What? A lesson? What kind of lesson is this?! A "how to replace your ex in one day" lesson?" - h laughed in my face.

"No, Zeynep." - I wanted to snap his smiling expression. - "I wanted to show you that we cannot be without each other. I wanted you to see what a big mistake it is to be quarreling and how much it hurts to be in the same room with your love and not be able to touch her.."

"Oh, please, don't! " - I shook myself. - "You should be thankful I only just slammed the door! If I had given you a lesson with Kenan, you'd be far from—"

"Ya, enough, what does this son of a bitch have to do with it?!" - I finally managed to make him angry. Well done, Zeynep.

"You see, Barış, this is what I mean! What do others have to do with our problems?! When you interfere other people we get nowhere! Even more like.. By letting her get so close to you in front of all of us! In front of ME!" - I hit him in the chest and he staggered back slightly. I promised myself I wouldn't cry, no matter how hard the conversation got.

"Zeynep-"

"Don't touch me!" - I pushed his outstretched hand. I grabbed my bag, determined to leave. I couldn't continue this conversation. A Lesson. He was teaching me a lesson!

"Wait, wait" - he stopped me before I could reach the door. - "Wait, Zeynep, let's talk normally!" - he said so calmly that I stayed by the door. - "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, forgive me" - he said quietly, releasing his grip around my elbow.

"Why did you call me here, Barış? Is this some kind of lesson again? "

"No no. It's just.. I decided it's time for me to show you this" - he waved his hand towards the empty living room. - "This is... This place is mine. I bought it before I came back to Turkey." - I was following his thought visibly confused.
