"You all remember what we practice, correct?" Alaric asked."Yes dorm leader!" They chanted back. They were all dressed in their tracksuits. Latte could feel adrenaline pumping through his veins, holding onto his magic. He and James were the only players to stay on the ground while the rest got to use brooms (and Latte really thought that it was unfair since he thinks he'll play better on a broom).
They had a short time period before starting the game. Though he was a bit worried since playing on an empty field was significantly different from playing in a stadium full of people and TV broadcasters. Oh right, they were being filmed live.
"You know, you could have told me you were on the team Rook" he sighed.
Rook smiled at him. "Hmm I could have but we were prohibited from helping you."
"Let me guess...Alaric told you to do it?"
"Et oui, he told us we'd get kicked out of the team if we did. Though I do believe that you were able to get help elsewhere, pas vrai?"
Well, that was quite an answer. He supposed that when Rook helped him that one time didn't really count as helping because he wasn't involved in Latte training for magishift.
As Latte continued to talk with him, he noticed a rather short, red haired student from heartslabyul walk up towards him with a serious expression on his face.
"Um...hi?"
The redhead crossed his arms. "My handkerchief."
"...what?"
"My handkerchief—" he stuck out his hand. "I lent it to you last month and I'd like to have it back."
Ohhh, Latte remembers now. "You're the guy Floyd was chasing right?"
The heartslabyul student seemed irked at Latte's comment. He rubbed the back of his neck while letting out an awkward laugh. "Sorry but I don't have it on me at the moment. I could give it back after the tournament though?"
The redhead sighed. "I suppose so..."
"Oh, what's your name?" Latte asked. "That way I know who I'll ask for when looking for you"
"Riddle Roseheart. Heartslabyul's dorm leader."
His eyes widened. This guy was their dorm leader?! The one who duelled the previous one and won?? And he was talking so casually to him too! God now he felt stupid.
"Uh, I'm Latte—" at this point Riddle was already walking back to his team. "...Gail."
He let his shoulders slump, leaning against the stadium wall. His eyes scanned the area until his phone rang. It was Azul (since when did he have his phone number?)
"Hello?"
"Heyyy gourami~ Look up!" Confused, he did as he was told and looked up to see Floyd near the stadium seats waving at him.
