Jin Ling
"Yes, yes whatever! I will consider you as my regent," I yawned at the excited looking member, "You are dismissed,"
Quickly he nodded and left me be. I glanced at the incense burner at the small side table near the interviewing desk.
One incense stick gone, meaning that interview took 30 minutes. Sometimes I wonder how I do not fall asleep in these boring meetings.
"Please let it be that he was the last of those annoying children," I told myself getting up to grab a bunch of scrolls from a shelf.
Each piece of parchment had a name and qualities of a member.
"Let's start with this one.." my eyes drooped, going half lidded. Jin Zimen, Jin Hudai, Jin-
"Young Master Jin!"
A junior called out. Startled, I flinched backwards a bit. "Why are you disturbing me?" I questioned though I was glad that this dull session of reading was interrupted.
"A letter has arrived!" The junior said exasperated. "From?"
"From Sandu Shengshou! Sect leader Jiang has returned from seclusion!".
"What did you just say?!" My eyes immediately turned wide.
Dashing towards the junior I snatched the letter from his hand. Indeed it was from my uncle!
A-Ling I have returned. I want to talk to you about a few matters. And I'd like to consult you about yourself. Come see me at Lotus Pier.
Your uncle,
Sandu Shengshou
Was this really my uncle?! Uncle.. what has seclusion done to you? The uncle I knew would never be so outright with his words like this.
Especially if it's about affection. After staring at the letter for a moment I got back to my senses.
"Inform the elders that I will be traveling for Yunmeng today, and that I will not be seeing any of their grandchildren for interviewing." I ordered leaving no room for discussion.
The junior bowed and left the room with my message.
Lets see what my uncle has to say for himself.
It took at least 2 days from Lanling to Yunmeng. At those time periods I contemplated the wording of the letter.
He wants to see me after abandoning me for 2 years?!
Although I was happy he wanted to know how I'd been, I could not oversee the fact he asked me so directly.
It was definitely not the first time he'd ask me to visit him in the Lotus Pier, but his wording would need reading in between the lines if you wanted to understand them.
For example:
A-Ling the lakes in Yunmeng have been swarmed recently.
Meaning: Come hunt water ghouls with me. Or, There is word of a night hunt, prove yourself.
Equals: I'm taking you on a night hunt, do your best.
Despite this fact concerning me the most of his return, once I reached Yunmeng all of my thoughts were pushed into the corner of my mind. My uncle in the flesh.

Jin Ling stood at the entrance of the Lotus Pier, while two Jiang juniors bowed in his presence.
