Chapter 2
WELL MY LITTLE READERS?! ITS SUMMER ASIF THE FIFTH, SO NOW WE GET TO PARTY!!! Honestly I've always wanted to go to a party, but I'm scared of bad things so I avoid that type of stuff. Someone teach me how to be brave and do bad stuff please!
Willow's POV
Okay, let's just get this straight. I'm happy that I'm pregnant. Actually I'm overjoyed. But couldn't it have waited? I know for a fact that if I told Riley, we wouldn't look for my father as planned. He'd keep me here where it was safe.
"We can't tell Riley." I whispered, pacing Alissa's room.
"And why not?" Alissa questioned, crossing her arms over her baby bump. "Willow, he'll be overjoyed that you're pregnant."
"I know...but if we tell him, he'll keep me here and not let me look for my dad."
"Willow, it's just nine months you'll have to wait."
"Yeah, nine freaking months!" I snapped, taking her off guard. "In those nine months, my dad could die or be killed! If he even is alive!"
Alissa stared at me wide eyed. Never have I once snapped at someone. She was probably thinking "wow, this bitch thinks she can talk to me like that?"
Alissa's thoughts, not mine.
"Willow..."
I held up a hand. "Don't. I know, I shouldn't have snapped at you, but this is my dad we're talking about. Ever since I was little I thought he was gone for good, but he's not! He's still alive!"
"God Willow..." She rubbed her temples in aggravation. "You're going to make me go into early labor with this stress." Dropping her hands to her sides before rubbing her belly, she sighed. "Fine, I'll keep it a secret. But that's only if you promise not to do anything too dangerous that will cause, you know, problems."
"Thank you Alissa! Thank you so much!" I nearly tackled her into a hug, squeezing her as she hissed in protest.
"Hey! Watch it! You're going to make my baby pop out!"
I pulled away, but couldn't stop grinning. "We both know that your baby will be popping out any day now."
"Your point?" She protested before smiling. "Willow, are you forgetting something?"
"What do you mean? What am I forgetting?"
She nodded towards her alarm clock which read 10:47 a.m. Okay, was there something I was supposed to be doing at this time or-
Crap!
"Oh no!" After giving Alissa another quick hug, I darted out of the room while shouting my thanks to her one last time. I can't believe I forgot, even after Riley had pretty much reminded me this morning. I had to get ready for the meeting with the witch. She was to tell me, well us, where my father was. How could I have forgotten so fast?
Oh right, the pregnancy.
As I was running, still lost in thought, I hit something hard and began stumbling back. I closed my eyes, readying myself for falling on my butt.
"Oh shit!" A rough voice exclaimed before someone grabbed my forearm, keeping me balanced. "Are you okay?"
With my free arm I rubbed my forehead. "No, it's my fault. I was running around and wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I opened my eyes and found myself staring at a new face. He was pretty pale with really dark eyes and black hair. "I'm sorry...who are you?"
"Oh, uhhh, I'm-"
"Well this handsome fellow is Kale." Travis, who came out of nowhere, said as he threw an arm over Kale's shoulders. "Kale, this is Willow, the Luna. She's a bit clumsy, but you get used to it."
"L-Luna?!" Immediately Kale released my arm and bowed slightly. "I am so sorry, I had no idea and-"
Woah...he's so formal...
"Hey, no it's okay, it's my fault. As I said before I wasn't paying attention."
He looked up at me with a worried expression before sighing and straightening his back and rubbing the back of his neck. "But, I feel like a jerk. I almost made you fall on your ass and-"
I laughed and smiled, holding out my hand. "Hey now, it's all good. But I need to go now, I have somewhere to be."
Looking at my hand, he smiled and took it. But that's when something weird happened. The moment he took my hand and icy feeling shot up my arm, making my arm freeze like I had just stuck it in a bucket of icy water.
I flinched, pulling my hand away and staring at it. "W-what was that?"
"Hey, something wrong?" Travis asked.
I looked at both boys. Travis had a worried expression planted on his face, but Kale...his eyes were wide, his mouth slightly agape.
"Kale? Buddy oh pal? You okay man?"
Kale fixed his eyes on me before nodding slightly. "Y-yeah. I just have to go...I forgot to... Uhhh, brush the car!"
Brush the car? Is he for real?
And just like that, Kale turned his back on us and sped walk through the halls.
"Huh, that's strange." Travis commented. "We didn't take a car to get here. And I'm sure he doesn't have one."
"He...seemed to be a little skittish." I sighed. "So he's new?"
Travis laughed and stared down at me. "Look at you, little miss Luna. You're taking an interest into new people." He continued to laugh as I scowled at him. "But yes, he's new. He is apparently in the same situation as you were, ya know?"
"Same situation...as me?"
"Yeah." He sighed. "We found him at the pizza place, Tony's Pizza Parlor, and he was so content. We asked him where he was from and he told us the Riverswell pack. So of course we looked it up, and it was wiped out a month ago."
"By rogues, right?"
Ever since Nick killed himself, more rogues have been popping up. I wouldn't be surprised if one tried to follow Nick in his footsteps.
"No." Travis breathed, his voice going low into a whisper. "Vampires."
I gasped. "Vampires?! How'd he survive?!"
"We don't know." He answered. "We sent some of our men to dig up files about Kale. Until then he's going to work to earn his keep."
I nodded. "Poor guy...it's rough having everyone you know to just...not exist anymore."
"Only you would know about that, Willow."
"Yeah," I sighed. "Only me."
We stood there in an awkward silence for a moment until I realized what I was doing before I bumped into Kale.
"Crap! I have to go Travis! I'll see you later!" I shouted as I started to run down the hall again.
"Wait! I need advice about-"
"No!" I cut him short. "I'm not going to even get into a conversation with you about being sexual to Paige!"
He broke into hysterics, his laughter ringing down the hall. "You know me too well, Willow!"
Giggling, I continued to run down the hall. When I reached Riley's and mine's door, I gripped the knob so tightly that my knuckles turned white.
I took a deep breath and released a shaky sigh. I wasn't going to tell Riley. I wasn't going to tell him anything about the pregnancy.
Releasing another sigh, I opened the door.
