Third Person POV
The days passed smoothly, with everything falling into a comfortable rhythm. For Detective Taehyung and Mafia Jungkook, life was going well after their small argument. They both made an effort not to upset each other, fostering a fragile but growing bond.
Taehyung began to trust Jungkook, slowly letting his guard down, while Jungkook, though aware Taehyung didn't love him, found solace in simply having his love nearby—a sight that filled his heart enough.
They still bickered over trivial things, their playful arguments weaving a new thread of connection between them. Taehyung resumed his job, spending most of his days with Jimin or J-Hope, while Jungkook, despite his dislike for Taehyung's time with his friends, held his tongue, letting the detective do as he pleased.
One Week Later
They say when you're in love, the world fades away, leaving only the person who holds your heart. If you asked Jungkook, he'd agree without hesitation. He was experiencing emotions he'd never known before—chief among them, fear.
The Mafia leader, who had never feared anyone or anything, now trembled at the thought of losing Detective Taehyung.
A gnawing insecurity plagued him: the fear that someone might steal his love away. To prevent this, Jungkook refused to let Taehyung leave the house, insisting his men could fetch whatever Taehyung needed—or he'd get it himself.
Taehyung was to stay indoors, away from others. But Taehyung, ever stubborn, was determined to do as he pleased.
"Jungkook, why are you stopping me? I'm just going to meet Hope hyung—he wants to see me," Taehyung said, his voice laced with frustration.
"I said no, no, no—you're not going anywhere," Jungkook replied, his tone deep and cold, his eyes burning with a possessive red. "Why do you need to meet him? It's not like you have work with him. You're just wasting your time."
"What do you mean I'm wasting my time?" Taehyung snapped.
"First, you kidnapped me, and now you're blaming me too? You have no right to say anything to me, okay? So just let me go." He turned to grab his car keys from the cabinet.
But he froze when he felt a tight grip on his wrist."I HAVE FULL RIGHTS TO STOP YOU OR KEEP YOU FROM MEETING SOMEONE FROM THE DAY I MARKED YOU AS MINE! YOU ARE MINE, ONLY MINE!" Jungkook shouted, his voice booming loud enough to declare to the world who Taehyung belonged to.
Jungkook couldn't take it anymore; this was his breaking point. He knew he had no right to control Taehyung's life, but the memory of a particular day haunted him.
Taehyung had gone to meet J-Hope at the park, and Jungkook, finishing his work early, decided to pick him up. From a distance near the park entrance, Jungkook had watched as J-Hope held Taehyung's hand, his eyes brimming with love and adoration for the detective.
That moment had sparked Jungkook's fear and insecurities, and since that day, he'd been determined to keep Taehyung from going anywhere.
"Hey, stop it... just stop it, okay? Fine, I'm not going anywhere," Taehyung whispered, noticing the vulnerability etched across Jungkook's face.
"Go to the room," Jungkook said, his tone cold but calm.
"I need some time to relax. I'll talk to you later, my love."
A shiver ran down Taehyung's spine at Jungkook's words, but the nickname stirred something in his chest, a warmth that painted his cheeks with a faint pink blush. With a quiet nod, he left the room.
Jungkook stood alone, his thoughts spiraling."What's happened to me, Jeon? What am I doing? I shouldn't have done this to him. He has every right to do what he wants, but I can't stop myself from keeping him away from that man—Hope.
Just his name terrifies me. What if he takes my Taehyung from me? No, no, no... I can't let that happen. If it does, I won't be able to handle it. If something like that happens..."
His voice trailed off as he became lost in his fears, eventually walking away, his mind a storm of emotions. At Night
Taehyung was bored out of his mind, with nothing to do and no one to talk to. Jungkook wasn't around to bicker with, leaving the house eerily quiet. He stood in the kitchen, preparing some ramen for himself.
Just as he was about to head to the living room to eat while watching TV, the front door creaked open. There stood Jeon Jungkook, looking utterly exhausted. Taehyung considered offering him some water but dismissed the thought, the morning's incident still fresh in his mind.
He averted his gaze, grabbed his ramen, and started toward the stairs—he'd eat in his room instead. But he stopped in his tracks when he heard Jungkook's voice.
"Are you still angry with me, bub?"
Taehyung's POV
The raw emotion in Jungkook's voice hit me hard, a desperate plea that tugged at my heart. I turned slowly, and the bowl of ramen slipped from my hands, clattering to the floor as I took in his state. Jungkook was on his knees, his hands clasped in front of his chest, his doe eyes looking up at me with desperate longing for a reaction.
"I'm sorry, please... I wasn't in my right mind," Jungkook said, his voice cracking as tears streamed down his cheeks.
"I just said whatever came out of my mouth. Please forgive me."
I couldn't bear seeing him like this. I knelt in front of him, mirroring his position, and opened my arms, pulling him into a tight embrace. He broke down in my arms, his sobs shaking his frame."Shhh, shh, I'm not angry with you. Don't cry," I said softly, rubbing his back to soothe him.
"Really?" Jungkook asked, pulling back slightly. His lips formed a pout, his nose red, and his doe eyes searched mine for confirmation.
I chuckled at his adorable expression, pinching his cheeks gently."Really," I said with a warm smile.
He smiled back, a glimmer of relief in his eyes."Now, let's get up," I continued, my tone gentle. "We'll eat something together, spend some time, do some things, maybe watch movies."
Jungkook's face lit up, and he nodded eagerly. We both stood, ready to carry out our plan.
He just looks strong, but in reality, he's a kid, I thought to myself, watching him with a fond smile.
