Desiree Montez packed the last suitcase into the car with a deep breath.

New York was somewhere she hadn't been since the beginning of her junior year. Her best friend, Nailea stood next to her.

Nai knew what happened in New York and she was in full support of her friend's decision.

"Babes shake off the nerves," Nai laid her head on her friend's shoulder. "The chances of him being in Sugarhill the same time you are are slim to none."

Him.

Desiree's first love. And the father of her daughter Delilah.

Last time she seen him, or David, was 5 years ago before her daughter was born.

She was a pregnant teen and that was strongly frowned upon in her family. Her mother was one of the top lawyers in the area, her father a well respected business owner.

Nothing but the best was expected from Desiree and when she fell pregnant her family shut her out.

She was sent to live with her grandparents and have her daughter in San Fransico.

David knew nothing of his daughter, he only questioned why the love of his life left with such urgency.

David was also currently thinking about the girl he waited all this time for. He thought about Desiree constantly.

His mind was a racetrack that she ran around endlessly.

The thought of holding her again forever replayed in his mind. He missed how soft her lips were on his.

But sadly our two lovers were miles apart, for right now.

"You're right Nai," Desiree smiled at her longtime friend. "We gotta get going anyways so get in the car while I grab Delilah."

Desiree walked off as fast as she could to mask the tears the had begun to form. Unbeknownst to her best friend, her first love reached out to her.

He tried contacting her every so often but she never had the heart to say anything back.

He never saw her instagram posts about their daughter, he never even heard her name.

Desiree tried pulling herself together. She kept thinking of her Abuela's voice everytime she needed her.

That only made her cry more because of how much she missed her.

Her abuela was there during Delilah's birth, that first night home, and every stressful time after. Her abuela meant the world to her.

The poor lady only had limited time and one night, peacefully, in her sleep she passed.

Desiree's Abuelo was there for her more than ever after the death but it was never the same.

And as Desiree thought of her abuela her daughter appeared infront of her.

"Mami why are you crying?" The little girl asked curiously.

She hardly ever saw her mama cry. Her mama was so strong. Stronger than Hercules himself.

"Mami was thinking about how much she misses her Abuela," Desiree whipped her tears and got down to her daughter's height. "Do you remember Abuela?"

The tiny girl was only 2 when her Abuela passed but her mom told her a story everytime she could.

Desiree wanted to keep the memory alive, her abuela couldn't fade away.

"No, but I know alot about her from your stories," Deliliah knew alot about people from stories her mom would tell.

But the one story she couldn't shake from her mother was the story of how her and her father met.

That story, to Desiree, was meant to be ekpt for a special occasion.

Within five minutes the Montez girls werenin the car and singing Taylor Swift down the highway.

This flight would be Delilah's first.

She's never met her mother's parents. Mostly because Desiree hated them for sending her away.

Desiree wanted to tell David about the baby. She wanted to raise her daughter in New York City but no.

Her parents took her choice away from her and despite swearing she would never visit them again she was on a plane to go stay with them for the summer.

🛫----------------------------------------------------------🛬

As Desiree Montez stepped off of the plane in New York she wanted to turn right back around but Nailea held her hand tightly.

"Inhala," Nai breathed with her "Exhala"

Desiree saw her parents and their huge smiles. She knew they weren't for her but the child they always swore they wanted nothing to do with.

"It's my grandbaby!" Her mother called. Delilah ran towards her while Desiree went to hug her dad.

She kept in touch with him, he was a little less dramatic about the baby but she still had a his part of the plan engraved in her brain.

"Hola papi," Desiree smiled. He smelled the exact same. He laughed the same, smiled the same.

Her mother on the other hand was cold with her, stern. Stiff.

The car ride to the home was even worse.

To communicate Desiree and Nailea had to text. Slowly but surely the ride was over in 20 minutes.

The house Desiree grew up in was the same. The grass still the pefect shade of green, the old tire swing still in the tree and the arrangement of flowers perfectly arranged.

"I'll get the bags, you ladies settle in then go explore," Desiree's father said which made her look at him with a concerned look. She knew this place like the back of her hand, why would she need to explore?

"Things change love bug," That nickname.

The same one he gave her all those years ago. He called her that all the time.

She was his love bug. His only daughter. His only child.

She smiled at her dad before walking into the more than perfect house hold.

🕛----------------------------------------------------------🕔

Desiree and her two girls walked the streets of New York laughing and just having an amazing time.

The city had changed alot from when she was growing up. People were meaner, more buildings, everyone was always in go go go mode.

Desiree Montez walked the streets on the night on June 13th and as she turned the corner, there he was.

David Reyes sat there laughing with his friends and his little brother Ethan.

Desiree was stuck in her tracks. He looked the exact same. His hair perfectly framed his face, his eyes sparkled and his smile was as gorgeous and as he turned to look at her, she paniked and walked pulled everyone into the deli.

David saw the girl too. How perfect she looked. How that supprised look they had when they were teenagers. He needed to talk to her but she bolted into the store.

"Is that Desiree?" Ethan asked. He knew it was.

He also knew about the baby. Des told Ethan everything because he was always like her brother.

As Des stood in the store talking to her best friend, David stood outside talking to his brother.

She didn't understand why the universe would bring them together in this way.

Two twin flames bringing themselves back to eachother after years.

Will their love recandle?
