(Mia's POV)

I walked out of the class swinging my backpack over my shoulder ignoring my teacher yelling at me to sit down.

I went to the abandoned parking lot across from our school lighting a cigarette and taking my backpack off.

"Those aren't good for you, you know?" A girl with black hair said sitting next to me.

"Why do you care?" I said obviously annoyed by the girl.

"Sorry you just looked like you needed company" she said starting to get up.

"Wait" I said grabbing her wrist and notice her flinch in pain and I let go quickly. "I'm sorry. I'm just not in a good mood. Thanks for trying though..maybe I can get you something for trying? Mostly for being rude though." I gave her a small smile.

"That sounds great" she said. Her mood completely changing. "Let's go" she said grabbing my hand

"You know I am a stranger right? That's pretty dangerous plus I don't even know your name yet?"

"It's Sarah."

"Oh I'm Mia.."

"See we're not strangers anymore." She said walking again with my hand in hers.

We walked up in front of a frozen yogurt shop. You could see inside the shop and it had neon green and pink chairs infront of the bar where you could sit. The sign matched the inside neon green and pink letters that read ' Deisy's Frozen Yogurt ' as we walked in I noticed I didn't even meet this girl no more than 30 minutes ago.

"Why are you helping me?" I said under my breath.

"Because you're a nice person" she said loud enough for only me to hear.

"Oh... Okay?"

We ordered the yogurt.

I got a pomegranate and chocolate one with brownies and she got a strawberry banana one with gummie bears.

"So umm why are you not in school.. I haven't seen you around ether." I asked

"Oh I dropped out in 11th grade. I was close to graduation I just had one more year but then I noticed what good would that do me? It doesn't really help you in the long run." She said taking a gummie bear out of her yogurt cup and popping it in her mouth.

"That's nice... I don't plan on finishing ether but I'm just getting threw it. None of the teachers like me. My school are not very accepting with gays or lesbians. So I'm pretty ready for summer, just 3 more months." I took my last bite of yogurt and tossed the cup into the trash.

"Well where do you live?"

"On main street.." I said re-adjusting my backpack. "Why?"

"Isn't that a rich neiborhood?"

"Yeah.... Why?"

"Just wondering. I couldn't tell by your clothes from what part of town you where from."

I looked down examining my clothes. I was wearing a black skirt with black knee high socks a long sleeved grey shirt and my dark purple hair straitened and flipped to the right side of my head. Maybe she's right... You can't really tell from my clothes where I'm from.

"Well yeah maybe you can come over some time." I said.

"Hey can I ask you something"

"Yeah.."

"Why do you draw on your hand?"

"I get bord. I have to keep my hands busy so I guess when I draw on my hands it keeps me from doing anything else stupid."

"Like what"

"Like this.." I said pulling my sleeves up revealing my scars and cuts from no more than 9 days ago and at that moment I was never more scared in my life I've never showed anyone my cuts or scars and I just opened up to this person like I knew her my whole life.

"Its fine" she reashured me grabbing my hand from across the table and pulling her sleeve up with the other one showing me hers that looked like only happened a couple hours before I met her.

"Is it weird that I trust you?" I mumbled looking into her eyes.

"Same." She smiled letting my hand go and tossing her half empty cup into the trash bin.

"Want to go to my house?" I asked.

"What about your parents?"

"They travel" I said taking her hand in mine walking to my house.

When we made it to the door step of the two story white house with the red door Sarah's face was already dropped. She was staring in awh as I opened the door and and led her upstairs to my bedroom shutting the door.

"So what do you want to do?" I asked " maybe we can order some pizza you look hungry?"

"No I'm fine to be honest I just ate before I met you." I could tell she was lying but by the look on her face I didn't want to point anything out so I just let it slide.

"How about Mario Cart?"

"Sure that sounds fun"

After the 16th time beating her at Mario cart she fell asleep and it was already 8:34 so I woke her up.

"Hey do you need to call your mom?" I shook her lightly making her rub her eyes

"My mom doesn't care about me anymore" she said bluntly.

"Sorry" I said picking her up and setting her in my bed. She was surprisingly light and I was thankful that tomorrow was Saturday.

"Goodnight Mia" she said rolling over "thanks for everything"

"No problem stranger" I said half smiling even though she couldn't see my face.

But at that moment I noticed that the love of my life was right in front of me and I will always be there for her. Even if it has been only one day I know there will be more.

So that night I fell asleep next to my new friend and finally felt safe from everyone in this world. She was the only one that seamed to make me happy at the moment and many more.

The girl with the black hair.
