Upon entering, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I have made it inside without anyone being suspicious! Sort of. The opening room is filled with a few couches surrounding a cluttered folding table. "You know, it took a fair bit of cleaning to get it looking this nice." It's.. not really that clean. The boy who was at the entrance is standing by me. He's significantly taller than me, with messy brown hair and an old grey shirt and cargo pants. "It's an old military bunker. It was pretty dusty when we found it. I'm Jimmy, by the way." He looks over at me.

"Call me Violet," I said. The one thing my parents left me with. A name. "So.. is there anyone else here or is it just you?"

"Oh, there are plenty more people. Just not that many here. I think that they'll want to talk with you before we do the official tour." He took out what looked like an old-fashioned walkie-talkie. "Meeting in the Main Room. We got a new girl," he said into the walkie-talkie. "Take a seat." The couch was a little firm, with stiff armrests and a bland grey colour. After waiting for a few minutes in silence, people began to file in through the door. A severe-looking boy comes in with a katana on his back, a boy in a lab coat, carrying a tablet, and a boy in a camouflage tank top. They all look around Jimmy's age, although the one with the katana looks a bit older. 15 or 16, I'd say. He is the first to speak.

"So. What brings you here? And what's that on your face?"

"Zombies, and a bit of mud," I reply.

"Doubt it."

"Um, before we get into that, shouldn't we introduce ourselves?" asked the man in the lab coat, although he didn't look up from his tablet.

"The name's Kazuki. Samurai." Said the man with the katana gruffly. He has short-cropped black hair, and rather than the grey t-shirt and cargo pants I see everyone else in, he is wearing a more chill jacket and jeans.

"I'm Ethan! I'm the tech guy!" said the man in the lab coat cheerfully, finally making eye contact, but only for a second. I'm almost certain he's just playing games. He has darker skin, with short curly hair.

"My name is Wesley. I'm something of an acrobat." grinned the man. "And I defend the base! Weaponry and stuff," says Jimmy. "Wesley and I do that, while Ethan and Kazuki do whatever."

"I'm Violet. And..." I looked away. Should I tell them? I mean, they'll find

out eventually...

"What is it?" asked Jimmy.

"It's nothing. So, what cool stuff d'you have here?" I said, hastily changing the subject.

"Well, we have a sort of medical area in the basement, not for zombie bites, obviously, but like for broken bones and stuff," said Ethan.

"We have a training dojo with some extra weapons," muttered Kazuki. "I use it for my samurai training, which-"

"But who cares about that," Wesley interrupted. "We have this big treehouse lookout, but you'll have to climb, that's no problem for me, though-"

"And that's not all!" interjected Ethan. "We have this gigantic science lab upstairs! We've got all sorts of cool stuff up there, and currently, I'm working on a-"

"Alright then, I think it's time we got some rest, it's getting late!" says Jimmy loudly. There were some general murmurs of agreement and people began to file out of the room. "Sorry about that. You have to cut him off early or he jabbers on for hours. You can always tell when he's about to go off on a tangent." Jimmy says after everyone has left. "Here, I'll show you where you're sleeping." He shows me to a small room with a messy bed and a small dresser. "It's not much, but-"

"Thank you," I say.
"I'll let you rest. Goodnight."

"Don't let the zombies bite."
