Death of a Killer

That's two drops from a pretty good height in two days. And both times, it's me who has gotten hurt, while everyone else gets off easy. I land on the grass with a painful jolt, as I landed on my foot. It's broken. Or at least sprained. Either way, walking's useless now. I grit my teeth in pain, but I know that now I have to be ready. The zombies will be coming at me soon. It's a miracle they haven't already. Immediately, the zombies all turn to look at me. It's almost comical how they all turn in unison. "I'm heading in!" I hear Kazuki's voice come from outside the mound. "I hate her, but she's a part of the team." Kazuki casually cuts his way into the middle with me. "Did you think we'd just leave you?" He raises his sword. "Ghost breathing, 11th form rise of the undead!" Kazuki doesn't even move and all the zombies around him and I were cut down to their feet. "How-"

"Don't think this makes us friends." Kazuki says. "What a stupid idea, launching yourself in a pit of zombies."

"I did get some though." I say, trying to defend my idea. Just then, everyone else walks in the ring of dead zombies, surveying the damage. "If you could do this all this time, then why make us wait?!" Sage says, amazed.

"I had to get ready." He points at me. "She can't walk." I hate to admit it, but he's right. Scarlette points a finger at me, and I begin to hover off the ground. "I got it!" She says. "I'm going to find their base and slaughter every last one of them," Kazuki says with anger in his voice.

"Not in your condition. You got pretty beat up by that big guy." Wesley says. "You'll get pretty beat up by me if you don't stay out of my way," Kazuki says. He does look hurt, but once Kazuki has his mind set on something, there's no stopping him. He starts to limp away and then starts to run. "Okay, nope." Jimmy runs forward and pins Kazuki to the ground. "You're-limping!" Jimmy is struggling to keep Kazuki down. Kazuki kicks up and kicks Jimmy in the face. "I told you to stay out my way. Ghost breathing, 1st form!" Scarlett sends a gust of wind toward him, stopping him. "So, I guess I'll keep him under control until he cools off?" She says, sounding a bit irritated. Kazuki throws a ninja star at her. "Where-?" She begins to say, but he lands a shot and it cuts her arm and he takes off to the forest surrounding the base. "I suggest we let him run. If he dies, that's on him. And he'll know it." Sage says. He throws another random ninja star at her. It cuts her cheek. "Shut up while you're alive." he calls back, before disappearing into the trees. "We'd best tend to our injured." Ethan says. Scarlett is examining her arm. "Don't get too mad at Kazuki, he saved our butts back there" Jimmy says.

"He saved our butts, but then he tried to kill us." She waves her hand, and I move forward.
"This feels so weird. And wrong." I say. "I'm literally flying."

"An inch off the ground."

"Yeah, but still..."

"Would you rather walk?"

"I wasn't complaining!"

"It doesn't matter, we need to find Kazuki!" Jimmy exclaims.

"Just let him run! We're better off without him." Sage says.
"I'm going after him." Jimmy says, and runs off.

"Great. Well, they're both dead. Let's just head inside. It isn't smart to be hanging around outside these days."
