Braden wakes up one morning and decides to call his boyfriend Liam. "Hey." he says. He hears Liam choke on his breath in reaction. "You okay there, Liam." Braden chuckles. "I gotta go." Liam says then hangs up. "Weird." Braden says throwing his phone somewhere on his bed and going back to sleep. "Braden?" his mom says knocking on his door. "Yeah?" Braden says rolling over. "You gotta wake up. Liam's coming over cause his mom has to work." his mom says poking her head through the door. Braden rolls out of bed and slips on some fuzzy slippers that his grandma got him. He throws on a hoodie and shuffles to the bathroom. He runs a comb through his hair and winks at himself. He brushes his teeth, washes his face, showers, and heads back to his room.Braden picks out a simple sweatpant-tshirt combo and changes into it. Braden digs through his closet and finds his best pair of sneakers (that match obvi). He slides his phone in his pocket and goes downstairs. "Hey, I made pancakes." his mom says putting a pancake on his plate. "I have some stuff to do, but thanks." he says picking up the pancake and eating it without any syrup or butter. He flops down onto the couch and takes out his phone. Liam texted him. His heart flutters and he opens it. "Sorry I hung up on you, I'll tell you why when I get there." the message reads. Braden checks his other notfications and goes back for another pancake. "No more for you. Liam's on his way." his mom says placing dishes in the sink. "And do the dishes after he leaves, okay?" she says crossing her arms. "Don't even worry about it." he says taking a seat at the counter. "What?" she says pausing. "I said 'don't worry about it'." Braden says confused. "Are you feeling alright?" his mom says placing her hand on his forehead. "I'm fine. Why?" he says shooing her hand away. "Your throat bothering you?" she asks feeling around on his throat. "I'm fine, mom." he says. Then, the door bell rings.
Braden opens the door and there stands little Liam with a backpack almost the size of him. "What's in the bag?" Braden asks leaning against the door frame. Liam's eyes flutter and he collaspes onto the ground. Braden (of course) rushes to his side. "Liam. Liam. Wake up." he says shaking Liam a little. Liam's eyes flutter open. "What happened?" he asks rubbing the back of his head. "You fainted." Braden says helping him up. "Let's get that scrape patched up." Braden says ushering Liam to the bathroom. "Does it hurt?" Braden says taking out some band-aids and some alcohol. Liam stays quiet. "Okay, this probably gonna hurt." Braden says before he dads a cotton ball on the back of Liam's head. Liam hisses in pain. "Do you want a band-aid? We have Avengers, My Little Pony, and Sponge Bob." Braden says handing Liam three different boxes. Liam whimpers and turns red. "What? Does this have to do with why you hung up on me?" Braden asks. "I thought it would change." Liam says quietly. "What would change?" Braden says sitting on the counter. "I thought it was just your morning voice or something, but it didn't change. Your voice got deeper. Like by a lot." Liam says with wide eyes. "Really?" Braden says. "Did no one else notice?" Liam says placing his hands on Braden's shoulders. "No? Maybe. My mom asked if I was sick, but that's it." Braden says. Liam looks into Braden's eyes. "Is it bad?" Braden asks. Liam shakes his head. "It's enough to make me blush." Liam admits embarassed. Braden leans in a kisses him. Nothing crazy, just a peck. "Maybe I like my new voice." he says and kisses him again.
