Liam and Braden walk into school on Monday and everyone was staring at them. Braden noticed first, a blush creeping into his cheeks as he scanned the crowd of goggling onlookers.
"Do I have something on my face?" Braden asked.
"No you look fine babe." Liam says, brushing a lock of sandy brown hair from his face. Suddenly, Guthrie runs up to them, his eyes full of worry.
"Hey guys. So uh... kind of everyone knows that you guys kissed in the auditorium a few days ago." Guthrie couldn't meet their eyes, staring instead at the groups of kids casting disgusting looks at Liam and Braden.
"Yeah so what? Other couples have kissed before in school." Liam says with a shrug. Braden stiffens next to him.
"Yeah but... it's just no one really excepted you guys to be..."
"Gay?" Liam finishes, staring Guthrie right in the eyes. Guthrie looks distressed and quickly runs off to be with his other friends.
"Hey ladies." Carston said, giving Braden an aggressive bump in the shoulder.
"Fuck off Carston." Liam says, sticking his foot out and tripping Carston. He falls flat on his face right in front of everyone. Liam grabbed Braden's sleeve and pulled him away from the growing crowd. They heard a teacher run up to Carston, who was craddling his face and swearing.
"Ignore that asshole." Liam said, anger lacing his voice. Braden nodded, trying to ignore the worry knotting his stomach.

Later that day Braden was getting stuff from his locker when Liam ran up to him, tears running down his pudgy cheeks.
"Liam, what happened?!" Braden said, pulling Liam behind his locker door to give them privacy.
"I was in Math class with Zofia and she came up to my desk and said, 'you know you're pretty cool for a gay guy'." Liam was bawling now, smearing tears against my sweater and hugging me close to him.
"Hey, I'm so sorry that happened to you Liam. Zofia's a bitch." Braden stroked Liam's hair, hugging him against his chest and trying to calm him down. Kids began spilling out of classrooms, crowding the locker bays as they transitioned to movement break.
"Come on let's go outside." Braden said quitely, wrapping his arm around Liam's shoulder and walking him towards the Ampitheatre doors. They walked to the track in silence, broken only by Liam's sad sniffles.
Braden wanted to make Liam happy so he decided to do something that used to always make him smile.
"Hey do you remember when we traded sweatshirts?" Braden asked, pulling off his hoodie with his last name on the back and handing it to Liam. Liam looked at it with his full eyes, a look of confusion on his face.
"I thought we could do it again. Just to show the haters that we don't care." Braden said with a shrug, helping Liam pull off his hoodie and accidently pulling up his T-shirt with it. The smooth skin of his stomach flashes for a moment until his shirt falls back into place. Braden tries to ignore it and tugs on Liam's sweater. Braden's sweater is too big on Liam and it swallows him whole, falling down to almost his knees and covering his hands. Liam's sweater on Braden is a bit tight, showing the curves of his muscles. Liam sniffled, whipping his face on Braden's sweatshirt sleeve and smiling softly.
"Thanks Braden." Liam said quitly, grabbing his hand as they walked around the track.
