Bad Liar - Peter Parker x OC

The Midtown students have been on the road for less than two hours and Peter Parker has been pouting for the entire trip.

Minutes before departure, everything was perfect. He and Jocelyn were joking and laughing with one another like they used to before the blip. Peter never wanted the moment to end. But the moment they stepped on the bus, that's when everything went south. It started with Flash, sitting next to Mary Jane, shouting out his dreadful nickname, Penis Parker. Which caused attention to be drawn to both him and Jocelyn standing at the front of the bus. This caused all the students to glance over seeing the two standing beside another. And Alex to bite back a grin, Michelle narrow her eyes, and Lucas to clench his jaw. Peter was used to be invisible at school, never being noticed in the hallway or in class. But entering the bus with the school sweetheart caused many people to stare and it was something he was not used to.

Jocelyn seemed unaffected, walking down the aisle of the bus with a soft sweet smile and rosy cheeks from her previous conversation with Peter. Completely oblivious to the stares around her. But as she was passing Lucas, he shot up from his seat to block her path. 

That is was when he offered Jocelyn the window seat. The seat he was saving for her.

Jocelyn visibly hesitated at the offer. Her smile faltered as she glanced back at Peter for a second, who was frowning while glancing between the two unsure what she would say. For a moment, Peter thought she was going to decline his offer by the shake of her head. But the small action caused Lucas to cut in, explaining that he wanted to talk and apologize.

Apologize? What did this asshole do now? Peter thought, unsure why Jocelyn was giving him so many second chances when he was struggling to get just one.

Which leads us to the present. 

Peter was sitting alone at the back of the bus, casually glancing up the bus to see Lucas and Jocelyn in a serious but hushed conversation near the middle of the bus. Ned ditched him to sit next to Betty, falling asleep on another shoulder from exhaustion of yesterdays events. Leaving Peter with his thoughts and curiosity to what Jocelyn and Lucas were saying. Sure he could use his super-hearing but that was obviously wrong. Regardless of how badly he wanted to do it.

And Jocelyn knew Peter could potentially be listening with his enhanced hearing. But she knew he wasn't. Because Peter would have spoken up by now if he heard their conversation.

"I want to apologize." Lucas blurted out after an awkward silence in the past hour.

Jocelyn let out a sigh, her head fallen back in the headrest as her eyes stared at the greenery that flashed past your window. She has been diverting his gaze since the bus started to move, unaware what he wanted to discuss and wanted to divert conflict when her mind was spinning already. 

"What are you apologizing about now?" She muttered softly, not taking her gaze off the window. Her nerves her visible though as she twiddled her fingers anxiously, nerved by conversation ahead of her.

Lucas frowned when Jocelyn failed to meet his gaze. "A few nights ago, my rude behaviour." He clarified. "I-it wasn't fair of me to lash out like that in jealousy when nothing is official between us." His hand reached over the armrest that divided them and placed a hand over Jocelyn's, stopping her twiddling and gaining her attention.

Her eyes tore off the window to look at Lucas, narrowing her eyes to determine whether he was serious or not. "You've been apologizing quite often, Lucas..." Her voice trailed off.

Lucas nodded. "I know. I just get so angry and jealous when I see you with Parker." He explained and Jocelyn frowned at the statement. His gaze dropped to his hand holding hers causing his frown to deepen in his lips. "I know you wanted to take this slow again a-and I am really trying. But I hate that he is around you, Jocie. Especially since I know your past." He let out a small irritated huff.
