Adelaide woke up on her right side just to see the back of a sleeping Aria. Today was going to be her first official day of learning. She sat up and stretched her arms to see that two more of her roommates were sleeping. By looking at the empty bed, she knew that Alicia was also awake. Adelaide grabbed her robes and headed towards the bathroom attached to their dorm to shower before breakfast.

After the shower, Adelaide saw Aria and Angelina still in bed. Allison rubbed her eyes, yawned, and waved at Adelaide all at the same time. Adelaide decided it was time for the other two to wake up so they could all head down to the Great Hall. She went up to Angelina's bed and grabbed her shoulder, shaking her back and forth before hearing moans from the girl.

"Angelina, we have to get ready for breakfast."

Adelaide heard similar mews coming behind her which told her Allison was also trying to wake up Aria. Angelina squinted immensely and tried to go back to bed, begging for five more minutes. Adelaide shook her head and pulled the comforter off of Angelina, much to her protest. This is what caused Angelina to truly wake up. She cast Adelaide a glare to which the girl stated that she was just helping her out.

Adelaide chuckled a bit then remembered who she also had to do this too. Cedric. She wanted to at least see him and her sister before classes today. Adelaide told the three girls to get ready and that she was going to leave before them. On her way down to the Great Hall, she passed Alicia and the twins through the common room and bid them a quick good morning before continuing down Gryffindor Tower. As she reached the entrance to the Great Hall, she saw that maybe about a quarter of the students she saw yesterday night. She looked at the center-right table and saw her sister eating chocolate chip pancakes. She ran towards the table and sat beside Nymphadora.

"Dora!"

Adelaide now had her sister's arm around her before speaking up again.

"I wanted to talk to you as soon as I could."

"Lai! You're going to do great in Gryffindor. You better not be worried about that. I told you before we even got here. Your house doesn't define you."

"I know. I know. I just had to make sure and I still wanted to make sure Ced was okay, too. Have you seen him?"

"Last I saw him was last night before he went to bed. He should be down in a bit. Hey, even if he's shocked about the placement. Just give him some time, he'll come around. But again, it's Cedric, there's nothing to worry about."

"Thanks, Dora."

Adelaide threw her arms around her sister in an overbearing way and got up to get breakfast herself. Before she could, Nymphadora called her.

"If you get into any trouble, let me know. And if I can't help you, get Charlie, he'll help you too. You got that?"

Adelaide nodded gleefully and took off to take a seat at the Gryffindor table. She had fixed a plate of waffles with blueberry syrup and bacon, savoring every bite. She heard what almost sounded like a stampede of footsteps at the entrance and turned her head to see the twins with something in their hands and their other older brother, Percy, behind them. As soon as the two boys saw Adelaide, there was a shared gleam in their eyes and they hurried to her.

"Here, take it," George told Adelaide. He pushed a furry object into her hands and ran past her once it was.

Adelaide froze when she felt the object move. She decided to open her hands to see a rat is what George gave her. She shrieked and threw the rat on the table. The Gryffindor table was now mixed between shrieks and laughter at the rat and Percy chasing after it. The twins were standing on the left of Adelaide, wiping tears from their eyes and holding their stomachs from the amount of laughter. Adelaide smiled a bit before giving the two boys an angry look.

"That wasn't funny."

"I thought it was. Wouldn't you say so, Georgie?" Fred said while nudging his brother.

"I would say so too, Freddie," George said before grabbing a plate of scrambled eggs and toast.

The two sat across from Adelaide, who ultimately agreed it was a bit funny. As the three ate, the rest of Adelaide's dorm and Lee Jordan, another Gryffindor boy in their year, joined them. While getting to know all of them, it was brought up that Allison was a muggle-born. Everyone tried to explain certain things from the wizarding world to her, but they all grew interested in the muggle world as well. They were introduced to television, movies, and even some sports like soccer. The sports were similar to quidditch, according to the twins. Allison seemed most interested in the creatures as she was told her entire life that all of them were fictional. As the group of first years finished their meal, they were expected to head to the head of their house, which happened to be Professor McGonagall, to retrieve their timetables.

Since it was Monday, the first years had potions, defense against the dark arts, and history of magic, in that order. The first two took place before lunch while the history of magic was after lunch. First years usually had the same timetables as other first years in their respective houses, so it wasn't an issue for Adelaide to have to make new friends and whatnot, although she wasn't opposed to it either. She did wonder if she was going to see Cedric in any of her classes.

The first-years headed to their potions class and noticed green patches which meant they were with Slytherins for this course. The other Gryffindors demeanor as soon as they realized, but for Adelaide, it was no problem. Her mother was a Slytherin and Adelaide felt like she was the kindest person to walk this planet. Adelaide took a seat at the table next to two Slytherin boys who seemed a bit taken aback that she sat so close to them instead of avoiding every table that was remotely near any of the Slytherins. She took her notebook and quill out, ready to learn, and encouraged her friends to take a seat as well. Angelina sat beside Adelaide and the twins sat behind them, while the rest of the girls and Lee sat to the left of them.
