(Title credit: Dark Days by Point North)

Andy hasn't answered his phone all day. That's not like him at all. Especially when it comes to Remington. Andy always responds to Remington's texts. He usually responds withing 20 minutes, but it's been well over 6 hours since Remington has last heard from his husband.

Remington is at the studio with his brother's. The two briefly spoke before Remington left in the morning, due to being in a rush from over sleeping. The band is packing up now, and Remington is blowing up Andy's phone, as he has been all day between songs, on their lunch break, and any time he had a chance at all to try and contact the man, resulting in 56 unread texts, and 37 missed calls which all went straight to voice mail.

Remington rushes out of the building and drives home as quick as he can as soon as band practice was over, since their manager wouldn't allow him to leave at all during the day. He gets home, and notices that all the lights in the house are off, which is weird since Andy is normally terrified of being in the dark alone- except in one case.  Remington goes up the stairs, kicking his shoes off on the way, and goes to his and Andy's bedroom. He opens the door and finds an Andy-shaped figure hiding under the covers on the bed. He can tell Andy is shaking and can hear small sniffles from under the blankets, making his heart break.

"Andy, love?" Remington whispers, trying to avoid startling Andy.

No words are heard as a response, only a sniffle and a quiet hum as an answer.

"I've been texting and calling you all day and you haven't answered. What's wrong, baby? Remington asks, keeping his voice low and calm.

"Oh. Im sorry." Andy whispers, his voice barely there at all.

"Bad day, honey?" Remington asks, sitting beside his lover on the bed. Andy sniffles again.

"Mhmm" is his only responce.

"I'm sorry, baby. Im here now, okay? I'll help you through this, my love." Remington whispers, pulling the covers slightly off Andy's face. Remington can tell he'd been crying for quite some time already, making his heart break even more.

"Come here, baby. Lemme hold you, okay?" Remington whispers, holding his arms out to Andy.

Andy promptly sits up and accepts the hug, curling up into Remington like a scared little kitten. Remington holds Andy tight, and he immediately breaks down in tears, crying heavily into Remington's shoulder.

"Shh, its okay, baby. I've got you now. I'm right here." Remington whispers, holding Andy tighter and playing with his hair, knowing that it usually soothes him when he's anxious or upset.

Andy holds onto Remington as if he was the only thing that felt real to him, the only thing keeping him safe. Andy starts to cry harder, making Remington pull him into his lap, holding his husband tight against him.

"You're gonna be okay, my love. I promise, you will. I know it feels like hell right now, but it'll pass, baby. You know it will." He hugs Andy tighter, feels him shaking like a leaf in a tornado, and rubs his back, kissing his head a few times.

Andy cries into Remington for a long time, all the horrible thoughts and feelings coming out in tears and sobs. Andy felt so alone and broken while Remington was out, couldnt even find the energy to get out of bed after he left for the day. Though he knew Remington would return, he couldn't help feeling like Remington had finally had enough of him, thought for sure Remington wouldn't return this time.  Andy was too afraid to check his phone even, terrified that Remington would be texting to tell him that he doesn't love him anymore and that he'd never see him again, or worse, not returning without saying anything at all.  So, as a result, any and every notification Andy got on his phone resulted in crying and panic attacks, making him turn his phone off completely without actually seeing any of the messages, and just assuming the worst would happen.

As Andy cries, Remington holds him tight, doing anything he can to comfort Andy and reassure him that he is loved, and would never be left alone as long as he was there, and that he'd always come back home to him. Remington knows the kinds of awful scenarios Andy's mind tells him when he's anxious or depressed, and knows how terrified Andy is, and always has been,  of being abandoned by the people he loves.

Andy eventually starts to calm down, pulling away from Remington slightly, just enough to wipe his eyes, and leans back against him. .

"I'm never ever going to leave you, baby. I can't live without you, and I would never put you through that. I love you more than anything else in this world, Andy. You're my everything, and you will always have me no matter what." Remington tells Andy, holding him close as he tries to calm down.

"I-I'm sorry...didn't mean to..." Andy whispers,  his voice barely there at all.

Remington kisses Andy's forehead and hugs him tighter, trying to comfort him as best he could.

"Shhh, Andy, love, you didn't do anything wrong, darling. You have nothing to apologize for. This isn't your fault. I got you." Remington whispers, holding Andy tighter as he starts to cry again.

Remington carefully lies down on the bed, holding Andy protectively in his arms. Andy hugs him tight, burying his face in Remington's chest, his breathing getting faster and starting to panic. He tries the best he can to catch his breath, but only ends up choking on his sobs.

"Shhh, Andy, baby, i got you...it's okay love..."  Remington whispers, holding Andy tighter and rubbing his back.

"Follow my breathing, okay love? Deep breaths." Remington whispers, hearing Andy's breathing getting even faster.

Andy does what he can  to follow Remington's breathing, trying to focus on the feeling of Remington holding him and rubbing his back. Eventually, after about 15 minutes, Andy starts to calm down, taking deep breaths to soothe himself and regain control of his breathing.

"You're gonna be okay, Andy. I got you." Remington whispers, holding Andy tight and rubbing his back slowly.

Andy slowly starts to calm down a bit, hugging Remington tight and pressing his face into his chest.

"D-don't let go...please..." Andy whispers, hugging Remington tighter and sniffling, scared that if Remington let him go, it would mean he didn't exist at all, and Andy really is alone.

"I won't let you go, love. I got you. Shhh..." Remington says softly, holding Andy tighter and stroking his hair, trying to keep him calm.

Andy cuddles closer to Remington, holding onto him tightly until he eventually drifts to sleep, feeling safe in Remington's arms. Remington kisses Andy's forehead again, whispering "I love you so much, darling. I'll keep you safe always, I promise" and falls asleep as well, holding Andy protectively in his arms.
