"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
- Winston ChurchillAngel opens his eyes, trying to adjust to the intensity of the sun, and he notices that he is in a desert. He looks around the vastness, only to find more and more sand. He walks around for a bit, more and more sand. Some structures, sitting above dirt or soil, were made of cement and concrete, falling away and turning into sand and dust as it hits the ground. The wind picks up, creating small dust storms around him, the structure vanishes as the wind hits it.
He thinks to himself, ("I have not been burning up or suffering from thirst... why is that? I will just add it to my list of weird bullshit.")
He sees in the distance a floating object, almost looking like a disembodied torso. A strong gust of wind mixed with sand makes Angel cover his face with his arm. He lowers his arm and notices the being a little closer, he blinks and he is slightly closer. He notices that whatever it is, it definitely is humanoid.
The ground between them begins to shift rapidly, almost like large spikes formed by the sand.
(Have you ever seen a giant magnet placed under a glass bowl filled with Ferrofluid? Sort of like that. You will get this amazing show of spikes).
He keeps looking at these spikes, amazed at its show. He feels a presence to his right, and he sees him. The being from before is a man, a literal body without legs, covered only by a Red and Black Hooded Yukata with a Red Kaku Obi. And a Red Daylily Satin Embroidery design detailed the back of his Yokata. Angel stepped back, but he didn't run nor scream. Rather, he was more shocked at his presence, never has Angel seen such a man before. Angel looked at the floating man, and if it weren't for the others he had seen the day before, he might have not been prepared for this encounter and wet his dream pants (and literal ones).
The man pointed his metallic-looking index finger ominously at Angel, his hand seeming to be warping in and out of reality and said in a deep and raspy voice, "YOUNG ONE." His voice of many caused Angel to have a headache, "YOUR LIFE IS OF TRAGEDY AND DESPAIR. YOUR JOURNEY IS NOT YET OVER. DO NOT FEAR, WHEN THE TIME COMES YOU WILL FIND THE PATH TO ME. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN."
Angel did not know why, but he could not speak, so he just nodded in understanding. The man put his hand down and bowed only his head as he slowly faded away with that familiar deep echoing raspy laugh, "A~HAA~HAAA~".
Then everything fades to black.
He wakes up, and quickly sits up looking around the room, then down at his bed realizing it was a... He was not sure what that was. That seemed real. ("Too real. What was that?") He sits up comfortably on his bed, he raises his knees to his chest and his arms around his knees with his head resting on his knees.
(The fetal position, you can't go wrong with it. Comforting in many ways. I mean, it just calms some of us down, right? At least those of us who have had previous trauma... our brain just needs to shut down for a moment or two and then... restart).
After a while, Angel hears a knock on his front door. Angel is confused, he was obviously not expecting anyone. He gets up, puts his shirt on and heads towards the door. He unlocked it and there in front of him was Joan.
"G'mornin!" Joan gladly exclaimed.
"Huh? Wha?" Angel said discombobulated.
"Glad to see you up and early! Are you hungry?" Joan asked, excited.
"Uh..." Angel tries to gather his thoughts. (You just woke up, I mean, you can't just go from night night to What Up!? You know?) "Yeah, I guess I'm hungry."
