New York //
"Soonyoung-yah. Make sure that all your belongings are tidy, so when we catch our flight on Saturday it'd be easier to clean up and check if there's anything missing." Soonyoung shouted a quick 'yes' to him from the other room.
They were going to meet up with Jisoo later for lunch, as he said: 'It was the least I could do after being pulled away by my schedule'.
All of their accommodations, except for the one in Washington, since Jihoon has an apartment there, was all booked and paid by Jeonghan. Also their tickets.
Later that day//
"This is it." Soonyoung mumbles to which Jihoon chuckles at, "Why does it feel like you don't want to be here?" The question earning a snicker from the younger, "The real question is: Should I be here at all?".
"Your Dad invited you to at least do something with him as a graduation gift. You should be happy?" Jihoon peers. "I'd rather it was Appa."
"Soonyoung, we've talked about this."
"Fine. Let's just get this over with." Jihoon shakes his head at the irritation the Soonyoung had been displaying ever since leaving the house, "I'm sure you'll end up loving it either way", earning a scoff from the younger as they trudge towards the table his Dad reserved for them.
Nakita ni Soonyoung yung sinasabi ng Appa niya na hindi man lang nag-update ng isang beses ang Dad niya kahit last week pa siya umalis para sa States— And it made his blood boil.
"Soonsoon-yah?"
"..... Bakit hindi ka man lang nag-update kay Papa ni isang beses last week?" Jisoo sighs, "Soonyoung, I was busy. What do you expect me to do? And alam toh ng Appa mo."
"Do you know that I actually had second thoughts on whether or not I was going leave him alone? He was overthinking, Dad! Because you didn't do your part!"
Jihoon could only stay quiet as the people around them starts mumbling and whispering.
"It's the bare minimum, Dad! If you saw him, if you saw how worried sick he was not hearing from you, you wouldn't be so dismissive about this—"
"ENOUGH!"
Natahimik si Soonyoung sa biglang sigaw ng Dad niya. Jisoo then heaved a sigh, and started to shuffle in his bag. A brown envelope was then passed onto Soonyoung. "Divorce papers. Yan ang inasikaso ko last week. As you know, me and your Pa got married in my home... LA. Your Pa was my home, but now, not anymore."
Soonyoung couldn't believe what he had just heard and seen, and Jihoon is the first one to speak after the long silence. "Is it finalized?".
"The paperworks, yes. Signature nalang ni Jeonghan ang kailangan. I already signed it. When we go back to Korea, I'm giving it to him."
"....."
"This will crush him."
Jisoo closes his eyes and nods at what his son had just said, "I know. But it has to be done. Soonyoung-yah, you know that we can't keep living like this anymo—"
Soonyoung walked out and Jihoon followed him after paying for their ruined lunch. Jisoo knew he f*cked up and Soonyoung will most likely choose to stay with Jeonghan either way.
"I had to do it, Soonyoung-yah"
.....
Soonyoung did not utter a single word. The car ride, when they got home... he was silent and Jihoon also didn't have the words to be said.
Jihoon definitely didn't see a divorce coming. At all.
Jeonghan is such a good husband and he always made things work for the three of them. For the family he always wanted. He didn't see a need to go as far as Jisoo divorcing Jeonghan out of nowhere.
"Fuck. Maybe it isn't out of nowhere..." Jihoon mumbles.
"What the hell am I supposed to do?"
"What?"
"What the hell am I supposed to do? What the hell am I supposed to say to Pa? What fucking face do I show him when we get back?" Jihoon could comment, because just as Soonyoung said earlier to Jisoo. This will crush Jeonghan. "You know that Appa loves Dad so much! This will truly crush him."
"I also know that your Dad isn't doing this just because of how their schedules clash."
"What?"
"Jeonghan debuted as a child actor, and from there everyone always knew that he'd be a sensation when he grows older and mature. And right he did. Jisoo, on the other hand, had tough times when it came to his career." Jihoon slowly said, "You're saying Dad hated the fact the Appa is on another level than him in the entertainment industry?"
"Could be one. And we're about to find out about the other factor. Get up, we're going downtown for a few drinks."
At some club //
Hindi maintindihan ni Soonyoung kung bakit naka-upo sila ng Tito Ji niya sa lounge for VIPs. It's not like Jihoon was interested in these things in the first place, and they've been there for almost 3 hours now.
"I need to go to the restroom, I'll be back."
Jihoon nodded and Soonyoung went off. Jihoon had his lips in a thin line, and he wasn't going to deny that Soonyoung's timing to go to the restroom was a perfect one. Because before Soonyoung said he'd go, Jihoon saw a glimpse of Jisoo going to same restroom.
"What the actual fuck Dad?!"
Jisoo's whole world crashed as he heard his son walked in on him and his groupmate, Choi Seungcheol, doing the nasty in the VIP's restroom. Soonyoung didn't need to know the main reason as to why he wanted a divorce, but now he does. And Jisoo doesn't know where to start, or does he even have to explain anything at all.
As both the older men sort their clothes out, Soonyoung turned around and walked away. He didn't want to be faced with it, but he somehow knew that his dad did have another.
"SOONYOUNG-YAH!"
Soonyoung can hear his Dad call out to him, pero hindi na lumingon ito... not until a pair of hands clasps his wrist. Hard. He whipped his head back and saw Choi Seungcheol staring at him. "Hear your Dad out."
Soonyoung snickers at him, "For what? That he's been fucking with you? And that you're the reason he's slapping my Appa divorce papers when we get back to Korea?"
"....."
"I wasn't fucking mistaken when I saw you and him hugging so comfortably behind the company building. For f*cks sake, Tito Ji was right when he told me he saw you two making out by the stairs—"
"Since when did you—"
"OH! DI KO ALAM DAD! EVER SINCE YOU FOUND SHIT*SS REASONS TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!"
"I—"
"NO! I'M GOING HOME! WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!"
