Dragon Bonding: Standing in the middle

Chapter 6

Once they reached over the clouds silence filling the air that felt suffocating for her and at that moment everything came crashing down, how so many secrets had been revealed for herself and others also with the way that she would get closer and closer to her father, everything welled up inside and she couldn't help but let out a scream letting everything out as she leaned forward against the dragon's neck who let out a grumble at her reaction, she let out heavy breaths feeling a bit better from that moment, though she still felt the smaller amount of feeling that was inside of her she sat up when she heard her dragon growl at something, "what is it?" she asked glancing around but she didn't see a thing her dragon stopped spinning around to get a view from every angle but suddenly claws wrapped around her arms making her let out a shout, her dragon was knocked off course out of her sight she let out a shout for her dragon as the other dragon holding her sweeped away from where her dragon was at it swooped below the clouds, she glanced forward noticing a mountain made of ice she furrowed her eyebrows at the ice finding something familiar about it.

It dived down in and out of the cave with special shaped rocks that looked like crystals before she was dropped into a large cave, she let out a shout when she fell rolling on the ground before getting up looking directly at Hiccup they looked at each other before she went over hugging him, he pulled away cupping her face with his hands asking how she got there and if she was okay, a dragon grumble was heard as the group of dragons came nearer, Valerie had nothing on her and Hiccup knew it as he pushed her behind him activating inferno lighting up the room he swung it around before waving him back and forth as the dragon in front of them followed pupils dilated at the thing, another came behind them making them spin around, it stepped closer making her step back against Hiccup deactivated inferno putting in a cylinder with Zippleback gas that he let out spinning around in a circle before lighting it around them making the dragons jump back. They stared at them curiously as Hiccup raised his hand towards the one in front of them.

A person jumped down making Valerie jump, Hiccup turned to the person in what seemed like armor, a staff in their hand and shield in the other, they looked at the person as it slowly creeped around them staring directly at the two "who are you?" Hiccup asked, holding out his hands towards the person that didn't respond at the question, just continued going around them "the dragon thief?" he continued there was still no response from the person "Drago Bludvist?" he continued, Valerie instantly shook her head leaning towards him "it isn't him" she whispered to him as the person continued to get around them crouching down as it walked forward "do you even understand what I'm saying" he asked, the person spun the staff around the end hitting the ground making a clicking sound ring through the air, two dragons went up throwing down Toothless and Stormbreaker, the latter instantly getting up and growling at the other dragons as Hiccup comforted Toothless that breathed heavily as if he had just been pulled out of water, Valerie turned to the person tilter their head at them before slowly shaking the staff at a dragon behind them making it open its mouth litting a flame as others followed lighting up the cave.

The person looked at them making both dragon's wrap their tails around their riders pulling them backwards as the person neared dropping the shield and staff slowly stepping forward as if scared to spook them, before holding out their hand spinning it around making both roll over, they ran their hand over Toothless's neck as they stepped forward towards Hiccup as Valerie pulled him back as the person held out their hand towards his face, he let out a grunt confused at what the person was doing turning his head revealing the scar on his chin, the person gasped pulling back crouching down looking up at him "Hiccup?" the person said revealing a feminane voice, Valerie looked at her as Hiccup let out an unsure sound. She pulled off the helmet revealing a thin face with brown hair and blue eyes, to Valerie she looked beautiful "could it be? After all these years? How is this possible?" she asked, rising to her full height, Hiccup struggled with his words, glancing at Valerie as she shook her head as if telling him she didn't know.

"Should I know you?" he asked and her face fell sadness going over it as she glanced down "no, you were only a babe" she stated before she glanced back at them "but a mother never forgets" she stated as Hiccup let out a breath surprise going over his face as he stumbled back she shushed him holding out her hand, before her gaze landed on the woman beside him she let out a breath glancing her up and down her eyebrows furrowed "Sapphira?" she breathed and Valerie furrowed her eyebrows surprise going over her face as Hiccup turned to her "no, Sapphira was my mother" she responded, the woman looked at her before she held out her hand gesturing them forward with a come.

The woman that Valerie learned whose name was Valka ran in front of them Hiccup asking questions to her from behind Valerie also doing the same cerius of where she knew her mother from, the older woman didn't listen as she continued ushering them along until they reached a clearing making them both stop talking, both fell at a loss for words dragons flew all around in circles off all colors and species a few babies playing around and green plants all over with blue water down below Valerie let out a breath as the dragons flew around a small smile finding a way to her lips, Toothless growled making them both glance up and there she sat glancing down at them on her Stormcutter that turned its head around grumbling, Valerie looked at Hiccup stepping back for him to get some place to ask his mother "this where you've been for 20 years?" he asked and she nodded, staying silent from her spot above them as Valerie clapped her dragon turning to him.

Dragons came over ceruis about the new arrivals of dragons Valerie couldn't help but smile at them as a dragon came over nudging her making her turn to it as it sniffed her she pat it's head as she turned to the mother and son talking, Toothless was surrounded making him snap at the other dragons that flew away, Valka then started fawning over him making him purr and grumble his tongue hanging out Valerie giggled at their extiange, she listened to the story that was told tears almost springing to her eyes Valka turned to her waving her over, she hesitated for a bit, Valka just smiled at her continuing before she walked over in front of her. The older woman smiled taking her face in her hands studying her face all over as if studying her, lifting up a piece of her hair between her fingers "oh you look so much like her" Valerie couldn't help but smile at this glancing down "you aren't the first to say that" she responded with a shrug of her shoulders, before she went to ask the question that was on her mind.

"How did you know her?" she asked and Valka smiled at her before she pulled her hands away "she helped me release most of the dragons I have here, we worked well together at that time" she responded and Valerie tilted her head at her "so that was why she went out for most of the nights" she responded and Valka let out a laugh before she turned to Hiccup "she is truly stunning, I approve of this" she pointed out making Valerie blush at her words as the two laughed at her face. "So how did you survive?" Hiccup asked, going back to their conversation from before Valka smiled walking forward "Cloudjumper never wanted to harm me. He must have thought I belonged here" she stated walking towards the edge where a giant dragon laid in the water below "at the home of the great Bewilderbeast. The alpha species. One of the very few that still exists. Every nest has its queen but this is the king of all dragons. With his icy breath, this graceful giant built our nest. A safe haven for dragons everywhere" she explained as they walked forward Hiccup was surprised by this asking about the ice spitter as Valka pointed out that he protected them all living under his care and commands, well everyone except the babies that didn't listen to anyone. The Bewilderbeast suddenly raised up standing to his full height in front of them Valka bowed with the rest of the dragons as his icy blue eyes looked at them he let out a purr, his head the size of a mountain before he blew out a breath of ice getting in Hiccup's hair, Valka just laughed claiming that he liked him, before they continued walking once again Valerie and Hiccup following.
